Schmader Triple-Doubles Leads Brockway Girls to Win; Seneca, DCC, Mercer Get Victories

Sophia Schmader had a triple-double for Brockway in a win over Union/A-C Valley

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Sophia Schmader had a triple-double to lead Brockway to a 56-31 win over visiting Union/A-C Valley.

Schmader had 19 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 steals.

On Senior Night, senior Raegan Gelnette added a career-high 14 points for the Lady Rovers (7-13).

Rheanna Spinda also chipped in 17 tallies in the victory.

                                      

Ava Strauser led Union/A-C Valley (2-14) with 13 points while Maddy Dehart added 10.

SENECA 46, GIRARD 16

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Mallory Hammill led a balanced Girard effort with 12 points in a 46-16 Region 3 win over Girard.

Haylee Farrell added 10 points for Seneca (12-6 overall, 6-4 Region 4), which went on a 9-1 run in the second quarter to take a 21-7 halftime lead.

Ten different players scored for Seneca in the win.

                          

Leah Pratt led Girard (3-14, 3-7) with eight points.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 52, JOHNSONBURG 20

DUBOIS, Pa. – Hope Jacob led a balanced DuBois Central Catholic attack with 10 points in a 52-20 AML win over visiting Johnsonburg.

Lexi Berta and Ella Elensky each added eight points for the Lady Cardinals (10-7 overall, 3-4 AML South) while Julie Sebring scored seven tallies.

Maria Casilio hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 10 points to pace Johnsonburg (4-13 overall, 0-6 AML North).

MERCER 42, SHARON 23

SHARON, Pa. – Mercer built a 20-6 halftime lead on its way to a 42-23 non-region win over Sharon.

Pressley Washil scored 15 points to lead the Mustangs (11-6), while Ava Godfrey netted 12.

India McGee had eight points to pace Sharon (9-7).

ST. MARYS 52, BRADFORD 29

                                   

BRADFORD, Pa. – Jayssa Snelick and Maura Caskey combined to score 30 points as visiting St. Marys beat Bradford, 52-29, in D9 League action.

Snelick led the Lady Dutch (14-3 overall, 5-1 D9 League) with 17 points with Caskey adding 13.

Kalie Dixon had 13 points for Bradford (3-14, 0-6) with Haley Keane adding 10 tallies.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 64, DUBOIS 25

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Ten different Elk County Catholic players scored including four in double digits in a 64-25 D9 League home win over DuBois.

Emily Mourer led the Lady Crusaders (16-2 overall, 5-2 D9 League) with 14 points, Lucy Klawuhn and Sydney Alexander each added 12 points, and Tori Newton scored 11 points.

Lynx Lander had 13 points for DuBois (3-14, 1-5).

MONITEAU 43, CRANBERRY 27

SENECA, Pa. – Outscoring Cranberry 18-2 in the first quarter, visiting Moniteau cruised to a 43-27 KSAC victory.

Catherine Kelly led the Lady Warriors (15-5 overall, 5-3 KSAC), who had eight different players score, with 10 points while Sophia Fleeger and Abbey Jewart each added eight points.

Jewart also added five rebounds while Emily Matz led Moniteau with seven rebounds while scoring six points.

Avery Coe had 15 points for Cranberry (3-14, 1-6)

OLMSTED FALLS (OHIO) 56, CATHEDRAL PREP 46

OLMSTED FALLS, OHIO – Danielle Cameron scored 23 points as Olmsted Falls (Ohio) earned a 56-46 win over Cathedral Prep.

Olmsted outscored the Ramblers 35-22 in the second half to pick up the win and hand the Ramblers just their third loss of the season.

                                  

Maddie Cerovac added 12 points for Olmsted.

Lena Walz had 16 points for Cathedral Prep (12-3) which had its six-game winning streak snapped.

Addie Biel added 12 points and Jayden McBride 10 for the Ramblers.

ST. JOSEPH 68, REDBANK VALLEY 59

NATRONA HEIGHTS, Pa. – Building a nine-point lead after three quarters, St. Joseph beat visiting Redbank Valley, 68-59.

The Spartans (16-2) led 44-35 going to the fourth quarter after using 19-10 second-quarter advantage to take a 31-22 halftime lead.

Julie Spinelli had a game-high 35 points to lead St. Joseph while Gia Richter added 15.

Mylee Harmon led Redbank Valley (13-4) with 28 points while Addy Bond scored 20 and Kira Bonanno eight.
