Saegertown Wins in Overtime; Fairview Rallies Past McDowell; Mercyhurst Prep, Northwestern Share Region 3 Crown

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Abby Rockwell scored four points in overtime to help Saegertown to a 46-40 Region 2 win over Cambridge Springs.

The game was tied at 38-all after regulation.

Saegertown trailed 30-18 after the third quarter before rallying to force overtime.

Lindsey Greco scored nine of her 19 points in the fourth quarter to help the Saegertown (11-11 overall, 7-5 Region 2) rally.

                                      

Lyndzee Amory also had 16 points for the Panthers in the win.

Kylie Hayes had 11 points for Cambridge Springs (8-14, 4-8), while Sydney Zilhaver and Brooklyn Cole added 10 points each.

FAIRVIEW 34, MCDOWELL 33

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Trailing 26-21 going into the fourth quarter, Fairview rallied for a 34-33 win over McDowell.

Ellia Pizzo knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter for Fairview (17-5 overall, 8-3 Region 6) while Bre Heidt scored four of her 13 points.

                          

Paige Garrity added eight points for Fairview in the win.

Mercedes Feronti and Amiaya Nelson had eight points each for McDowell (5-16, 5-7).

WILMINGTON 65, GREENVILLE 43

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Lia Krarup scored 19 points as Region 4 champion Wilmington beat Greenville, 65-43.

Reese Bruckner added 11 points and Maya Jeckavitch eight for Wilmington (18-4 overall, 11-1 Region 4), which led 30-19 at halftime en route to the win.

Preslie Kirila had 16 points, Josie Hart 11 and Peyton Davis 10 for Greenville (9-13, 2-10).

WARREN 45, CONNEAUT 37

LINESVILLE, Pa. – Alana Stuart scored 15 points as Region 5 champion Warren topped Conneaut, 45-37.

The Dragons (18-4 overall, 10-0 Region 5) outscored the Eagles (15-7, 8-2) 24-17 in the second half en route to the win.

Halle Kuzminski netted 13 points for Warren and Sammie Ruhlman 11.

                                   

Lainie Harrington had 14 points and seven rebounds for CASH, while Hannah Brady had 10 points and Courtney Perrye six rebounds and two assists.

CATHEDRAL PREP 61, GENERAL MCLANE 31

EDINBORO, Pa. – Jayden McBride scored 18 points and Addie Biel 17 for Region 6 champion Cathedral Prep in their 61-31 win over General McLane.

Lena Walz added 10 points for Prep (18-3 overall, 12-0 Region 6), which led 43-16 at halftime.

Libby Opp had 13 points for General McLane (8-14, 3-9).

MERCYHURST PREP 71, EISENHOWER 27

ERIE, Pa. – Olivia Kulyk scored 18 points as Mercyhurst Prep earned a share of the Region 3 title via their 71-27 win over Eisenhower.

The win, coupled with Northwestern’s win over Iroquois, means the two teams will share the title. The Lakers and Wildcats split their regular season series.

Kulyk was one of four Lakers (19-3 overall, 13-1 Region 3) in double figures, as Seana Thrower and Makayla Savko had 12 points each and Ashland Koercher 10.

Clara Steinberg had 13 points for Eisenhower (10-11, 6-8).

NORTHWESTERN 72, IROQUOIS 13

ERIE, Pa. – Northwestern earned a share of the Region 3 title with a 72-13 win over Iroquois.

The win, coupled with Mercyhurst Prep’s win over Eisenhower, gave the two teams the share of the crown, both finishing the regular season at 19-3 overall and 13-1 in the region.

Makayla Presser-Palmer 21 points, Chloe Yazembiak 18 and Lane Keith nine. A total of 11 different Northwestern players scored in the win.

Three different Iroquois (0-22, 0-14) players scored three points each.

                                  

GROVE CITY 40, SLIPPERY ROCK 37

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Maddie Osborn scored 19 points as Grove City outlasted Slippery Rock, 40-37.

GC (16-6, 10-2) built a 32-28 lead after three quarters and was able to hold off the Rockets (7-15, 4-8).

Piper Como scored eight of her 13 points in the fourth quarter to help Grove City preserve the win.

CJ Sabo had 14 points and Madison Romanovich 12 for the Rockets.

FRANKLIN 41, CORRY 22

CORRY, Pa. – Katie Boal scored 12 points as Franklin picked up a 41-22 win over Corry.

Jamie Blum and Estella Adams knocked down three 3-pointers each and finished with 11 and nine points, respectively for Franklin (14-8, 6-4).

Haley Mumau had 10 points for Corry (9-12, 4-6).

SHARPSVILLE 54, SHARON 36

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. – Lily Palko scored 21 points as Sharpsville earned a 54-36 Region 4 win over Sharon.

Macie Steiner had nine points and 10 rebounds for the Blue Devils (12-10 overall, 7-5 Region 4), while Kathryn Smith also had nine points and Brooklyn Ramsey eight.

Lacey Root had 13 points to lead Sharon (11-11, 3-9).

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 77, MERCER 34</strong.

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Layke Fields had 23 points and Monique Vincent 18 to lead Kennedy Catholic to a 77-34 win over Mercer.

Vincent connected on six 3-pointers for the Golden Eagles (17-4 overall, 13-0 Region 1).

Tori Harvey added 12 points while Bella Magestro dished out 15 assists while adding eight points.

Pressley Washil led Mercer (15-7, 9-5) with 12 points.

NORTH EAST 48, GIRARD 24

NORTH EAST, Pa. – Kayla Forsythe and Maisy Post scored 11 points each to help North East to a 48-24 win over Girard.

Alaina Rodemoyer added eight points in the win for North East (15-7, 10-4).

Leah Pratt had 11 points for Girard (4-18, 4-10)

SENECA 63, TITUSVILLE 26

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Haylee Farrell scored 15 points as Seneca powered past Titusville, 63-26.

Mallory Hammill added 12 points for Seneca (14-8, 8-6), which had eleven different players score in the win.

Kasey Krepps had nine points for Titusville (2-19, 2-12).

LAKEVIEW 54, COMMODORE PERRY 8

HADLEY, Pa. – Emma Marsteller had 13 points and five rebounds in Lakeview’s 54-8 win over Commodore Perry.

Kyndra Seddon added nine points and six rebounds for Lakeview (13-9 overall, 11-3 Region 1), while Leigha Marsteller had eight points and eight steals.

Marley Meyer had six points and six rebounds for Commodore Perry (0-22, 0-14).

UNION CITY 57, ROCKY GROVE 17

UNION CITY, Pa. – Brooke VanTassel scored 15 points as Union City scored a 57-17 win over Rocky Grove.

Nine different Union City (11-11, 8-4) players scored in the win, with Catherine Reynolds and Brooke Wienczkowski netting 11 points each.

Rae Montgomery had six points for Rocky Grove (7-15, 0-12).

BROOKVILLE 52, DUBOIS 42

DUBOIS, Pa. – Eden Wonderling scored a game-high 27 points to lead Brookville to a 52-42 road NTL win over DuBois.

Samantha Whitling added 15 points for the Lady Raiders (11-11 overall, 4-6 D9 League).

Lynx Lander paced DuBois (3-19, 1-9) with 20 points with Avery Fontaine adding 12 tallies.

BOYS

HICKORY 91, REYNOLDS 31

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Gatlin Reimold scored 18 points to lead three Hickory players in double figures in a 91-31 win over Reynolds.

Ryan Robich had 13 points and three steals for the Hornets (14-7) while Braden Bittler had 10 points, two rebounds and two assists.

Hickory had 16 different players score in the win.

Andrew McCloskey had 12 points to lead Reynolds.

CURWENSVILLE 72, BUCKTAIL 59

RENOVO, Pa. – Davis Fleming netted 27 points to lift Curwensville to a 72-59 win at Bucktail.

Grant Swanson also drained four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points for the Golden Tide (11-11) with Parker Wood chipping in 13 points and Braden Holland scoring nine tallies.

Brody Pentz had 21 points for Bucktail.
