Saegertown, Conneaut Earn District 10 Volleyball Crowns

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Saegertown knocked off rival Cochranton in a five-set thriller for the District 10 Class A volleyball championship, 27-25, 18-25, 25-18, 21-25, 15-13

It’s the second District 10 title in program history for the Panthers.

Averie Braymer and Brittany Houck led the offensive attack for the Panthers with 19 and 13 kills respectively. Ava Jones set them up perfectly all night to the tune of 46 assists.

Amber Costello came up big on defense with 39 digs for the winners.

            

Saegertown advances to the PIAA quarterfinals, where they will meet the WPIAL champion, either Bishop Canevin or Greensburg Central Catholic on Nov. 14.

CLASS 3A

CONNEAUT 3, FORT LEBOEUF 0

WATERFORD, Pa. – Conneaut was too much for Fort LeBoeuf, beating the Bison 3-0 (25-12, 26-24, 25-21) for the District 10 Class 3A volleyball championship on Thursday.

Cassidy Snider had a big match for the Eagles (16-2), tallying 20 kills, while Emily Bortnick served 43 set assists.

                          

Conneaut’s Kaylee Mattera was also big on the offensive attack with 13 kills.

Anna Bayer had nine kills to lead Fort LeBoeuf, while Audrey Friedman had six blocks and five kills and Laruen Dahn six kills and 10 digs.

Conneaut advances to play DuBois in the PIAA quarterfinals on Nov. 14.
