ERIE, Pa. – The Cathedral Prep team of Finleigh Handzel and Sophia Glance (Class 2A) and the Fairview team of Hannah Nichols and Mackenzee Jewell (Class 3A) captured District 10 girls’ doubles tennis titles on Thursday.
Handzel and Glance got their title by beating their teammates. Prep’s No. 1 team beat their No. 3 team of Paige Patsy and Margert Pritchard, 7-6 (7-1), 6-3 to win the title.
Nichols and Jewell, meanwhile, rallied for their victory. The duo dropped the first set to Erie High’s Enisa Slikjovic, 2-6, before rallying, 6-4, 6-1 to claim the title.

Both champions advance to the PIAA championship Nov. 3-4 at the Hershey Racquet Club.
