Otto-Eldred, West Middlesex Girls Nab Close Wins; Franklin Tops Hickory

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Otto-Eldred outscored visiting Bradford 15-10 in the second half to break a 15-all halftime tie and pick up a 30-25 win in the consolation game of the Randy Stebbins Memorial Tournament.

Four Lady Terrors scored between five and seven points in the victory led by seven points, six rebounds, and two steals from Carrie Drummond.

Kate Rhinehart and Ayla Van Scoter each added six points with Van Scoter grabbing eight boards and Rhinehart six. Addie Bell chipped in with five points and six rebounds.

Haley Keane had a game-high 15 points for Bradford.

                                      

WEST MIDDLESEX 45, GROVE CITY 40

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Trailing 22-21 at halftime, West Middlesex went on an 11-5 spurt in the third quarter in a 45-40 win over Grove City.

Jen Babcock and Brooke Blaze had four points each during the third quarter run for the Big Reds.

Caitlin Stephens poured in a game-high 17 points in the win for West Middlesex.

Maddie Osborn had 11 points for Grove City and Piper Como added 10.

                          

FRANKLIN 54, HICKORY 35

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Jamie Blum led three Franklin players in double figures with 16 points in a 54-35 win over Hickory.

Jenn Blum and Estella Adams netted 14 points each for Franklin in the win.

Addison Phillips led Hickory with 11 points.

AUSTIN 49, GALETON 14

GALETON, Pa. – Ella Brewer scored 20 points and grabbed five rebounds to lift Austin to a 49-14 win over Galeton in the consolation game of the Galeton Tournament.

Isabella Rees added eight points, six rebounds, four steals, and three assists for the Lady Panthers with Mary Clinger dishing out four assists and Kadence McKeirnan cleaning the glass for nine rebounds.

Lynlee Basile had seven points for Galeton.

UNIVERSITY (W. Va.) 66, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 49

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Leading 29-27 at halftime, University (W. Va.) went on a 19-9 run in the third quarter to pull away from Kennedy Catholic, 66-49.

                                   

Hannah Stemple scored eight of her 20 points during the third quarter run for University.

Ella Simpson scored a game-high 29 points for University, including 13 in the fourth quarter to help put the game away.

Bella Magestro led Kennedy Catholic with 15 points, while Layke Fields added 14.

MERCYHURST PREP 60, HARBOR CREEK 20

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Olivia Kulyk scored 16 points as Mercyhurst Prep raced to a 60-20 win over Harbor Creek.

Mia Mangini added 11 points for the Lakers in the win.

Brooke Przybylski had 10 points for Harbor Creek.

WELLSVILLE (N.Y.) 26, NORTHERN POTTER 21

WESTFIELD, Pa. – A four-point first half was too much for Northern Potter to overcome in a 26-21 loss to Wellsville (N.Y.) in the consolation game of the Cowanesque Valley Tip-off Tournament.

The Lady Panthers trailed 12-4 at halftime after being shut out in the first quarter and were down 10, 20-10, going to the fourth quarter before more than doubling their point total in the final eight minutes.

Averee Palmatier led the Lions with nine points with Natalie Adams adding eight points.

Molly Cady had eight points for Northern Potter with Reagan Slawson adding seven.

ROCKY GROVE 33, IROQUOIS 28

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Rae Montgomery scored eight points as Rocky Grove earned a 33-28 win over Iroquois.

Zoe Cresswell added four points in the win for Rocky Grove.

                                  

Karina Reichard had nine points for Iroquois.

BOLINGBROOK (Ill.) 63, CATHEDRAL PREP 43

AKRON, OHIO – Trinity Jones scored 21 points as Bolingbrook (Ill.) earned a 63-43 win over Cathedral Prep in the Hoban Hoops Classic.

Jayden McBride and Addie Biel led Cathedral Prep with 13 points each, while Lena Walz added nine.
