Oswayo Valley Tops Otto-Eldred; Clarion Sweeps DuBois; Jamestown, Franklin Get Wins (Sept. 6 VB Recap

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Praylan Perkins had 10 kills, four aces, and two digs to help Oswayo Valley to a 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 25-21).

Otto-Eldred’s win in the second set came after OV had led by seven, but the Green Wave rallied to win the next two sets.

“We were a little nervous and disappointed that we weren’t able to close it out (the second set),” said Perkins, who was the Allegheny Grille Player of the Match during the Cole Orthodontic Associates Player of the Game interview. “We ended up going into the third set a lot more confident.”

Olivia Cook had seven kills, 17 digs, one block, and two aces for Oswayo Valley, while Laci Miller-Geiger had 17 set assists, four aces, two kills, and two digs.

For Otto-Eldred, Carrie Drummond had 16 kills and 15 digs, while Kate Rhinehart had eight kills and Anna Schuessler 22 set assists.

CLARION 3, DUBOIS 0

                          

DUBOIS, Pa. – Hadlee Campbell had 15 kills, 14 digs, three blocks, and three aces to lead Clarion to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-17) win at DuBois.

Campbell’s performance earned her the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Match honors, and she talked about the victory on the Cole Orthodontic Associates Postgame Interview.

Alicyn Burford added five kills and a block in the victory, while Taylor Alston (17 set assists) and Addi Campbell (10 set assists) ran the offense. Austin also had nine digs and two blocks with Addi Campbell chipping in six digs and two aces.

Marley Kline had a strong match for the Lady Cats as well with six kills and four blocks.

Ava Baronick led DuBois with seven kills with Morgan Pasternak adding six kills.

JAMESTOWN 3, LAKEVIEW 0

STONEBORO, Pa. – Madilyn Enterline had five kills, a block, and three digs to help visiting Jamestown to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-10) win over Lakeview.

Hannah Hart added three kills and two digs for the Muskies while Sophia Hart had two kills, two blocks, and four digs.

Emily Enterline ran the Jamestown offense with seven set assists.

AUSTIN 3, CAMERON COUNTY 1

         

AUSTIN, Pa. – Savannah Horton had 13 kills and 10 digs to help Austin to a 3-1 win over visiting Cameron County (22-25, 27-25, 25-17, 25-20).

Isabella Rees added eight kills and five blocks for the Panthers with Ella Bewer recording eight digs.

Marah Fowler ran the offense for Austin with 35 set assists.

Ava Hilfiger had seven kills for Cameron County with Caitlyn Palumbo chipped in five kills and two digs.

HARBOR CREEK 3, CONNEAUT (OHIO) 0

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Hannah Smith had 11 kills to lead Harbor Creek to a 3-0 (25-8, 27-25, 25-19) win over Conneaut (Ohio) at home.

Elise Benim added six kills and Liz Gunther five kills for the Huskies while Aly Hester paced the defense with 14 digs.

Talon King ran the Harbor Creek offense with 23 set assists.

FRANKLIN 3, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 0

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Jennifer Blum had 14 kills and 13 digs to help visiting Franklin to a 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-17) win at Kennedy Catholic.

Abby Boland and Kaite Boal each added two blocks for the Knights while Estella Adams ran the offense with 34 set assists.

COUDERSPORT 3, PORT ALLEGANY 2

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Sierra Myers had 25 kills, four digs, three aces, and two blocks to lead Coudersport to a 3-2 (25-17, 16-25, 26-24, 18-25, 15-12) win over Port Allegany.

Savannah Myers added 10 kills, seven digs, and two aces for the Lady Falcons while Emily Eckert ran the offense with 33 set assists while adding 12 digs and two digs.

Jenan Renner had 15 kills to lead Port Allegany while Kayleigha Dowell had seven kills and Lilly Legmeir 12 kills.

Isla Lehmeir ran the offense for Port Allegany with 39 set assists.

NORTHERN POTER 3, SMETHPORT 1

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Haylee Chapman recorded 11 kills, four digs, two blocks, and two aces to lead Northern Potter to a 3-1 (25-22, 25-10, 22-25, 26-24).

Kayla Hyde added seven kills, 15 digs, nine set assists, and two aces with Sara Risser chipping in 10 digs and six kills and Reagan Slawson 10 digs and two kills. Kayden Brown also helped run the offense with 15 set assists while adding six digs and two kills.

Elizabeth Hungiville had 11 kills, seven digs, three aces, and one block for Smethport with Emily Snyder adding five kills and two aces and Karlee Tanner four kills, seven digs, and one ace. Madi Faes ran the offense with 17 set assists and added eight digs, six aces, and a block.

GREENVILLE 3, GIRARD 1

GIRARD, Pa. – Visiting Greenville took home a 3-1 (25-15, 24-26, 25-20, 25-10) win over Girard.

Greenville stats weren’t available but Girard got 13 digs from Alivia Montgomery, 13 set assists from Laurel Counasse, and six kills from Shannon Salorino.
