Cathedral Prep Girls Beat Rival McDowell; GM Blanks Erie; DuBois Boys Win in OT (Sept. 6 Soccer Recaps)

ERIE, Pa. – Olivia Dixon scored a pair of goals as Cathedral Prep earned a 5-1 win over rival McDowell.

Callie Cacchione, CC Cacchione and Brooklyn DiRamo also scored for the Ramblers, who led 2-0 at halftime.

Kaykey McCall and Dixon had two assists each for Prep, while DiRamo had one.

GENERAL MCLANE 11, ERIE 0

EDINBORO, Pa. – Sydney Rotko scored four goals as General McLane built a 6-0 halftime lead en route to an 11-0 win over Erie.

            

Emily Grutkowski and Remy Suroviec scored two goals each for the Lancers, while Casie Chorney, Lena Bookhamer and Sophia Allison had one goal each.

Allison had a team-high three assists, while Bookhamer had two and Scout Adamski and Rotko had one each.

Bella Dibble and McKenna Laughery combined for the shoutout in net.

KARNS CITY 1, DEER LAKES 1, double overtime

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Karns City and Deer Lakes battled for 100 minutes to a 1-1 draw in double overtime.

                          

Hanna Dailey had a goal on a penalty kick for Karns City.

DUBOIS 5, ST. MARYS 1

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Emily Graeca scored a pair of goals as DuBois earned a 5-1 win over St. Marys.

Lauren Graeca, Kaitlyn Rhodes and Aaliyah Schuckers also scored for DuBois.

Katie McGahey had two assists for DuBois, while Lauren Graeca, Lexi Nissel and Jasmine Robinson had one each.

Jasmine and Ariel Carney combined on the win in net.

MERCYHURST PREP 7, CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 0

ERIE, Pa. – Molly Taylor scored four goals as Mercyhurst Prep earned a 7-0 win over Cambridge Springs.

Milly Pierce, Audrey Zimmerman and Isabella Janiuk also had one goal each for the Lakers.

Pierce, Zimmerman, Sarah Herman and Ella Schumacher had one assist each.

                        

BOYS

DUBOIS 1, ST. MARYS 0, overtime

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Thai Tran’s goal 22 seconds into overtime lifted DuBois to a 1-0 win over St. Marys.

PORT ALLEGANY 8, NORTHERN POTTER 2

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Justin Dunn and Jarrod Funk each recorded hat tricks as Port Allegany beat Northern Potter, 8-1.

         

Henry Kisler had one goal and two assists, while Saxon Palmer had one goal and Eli Voss and Dunn had one assist each.

Aidan Clark had 11 saves for Port Allegany.

Joseph Lehman and Owen Daniels had goals for NoPo, while Ty Daniels had two assists.

Malachi Lewis and Ean Gertzen had a combined five stops for the NoPo.

MEADVILLE 3, SHARON 1

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Kale Armstrong and Graham Shellhaas scored one goal each as Meadville earned a 3-1 win over Sharon.

Armstrong and Shellhaas assisted on each others goals as well. The Bulldogs also scored on an own goal.

Meadville led 2-1 at halftime.

Marco Zajax scored for Sharon.
