WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – North Clarion took four of the top five spots in the boys race and three of the top five in the girls race to earn a sweep at Moniteau Thursday.
Kaine McFarland and Rachel Bauer were top individual winners in their respective races as McFarland led the boys to a 19-39 win, while the girls came away 23-35 winners.
McFarland took top honors in the boys race with a time of 20:13.6, while Aiden Thomas (21:00.4) took second, Patrick Young (21:37.9) fourth and Aaron Lencer (21:42.4) fifth. Owen Shaffer (22:05.4) finished seventh to round out the Wolves’ scoring.
Bauer led the way for the girls with a time of 22:18.4. Jordyn Hendrickson (23:28.8) finished fourth and Nicole Fair (23:33.5) fifth for the Wolves. Emma Buckley (sixth, 24:06.3) and Kayla Aaron (seventh, 24:08.6) also scored for North Clarion.
Dakota Funfer led the Warriors boys with a time of 21:16.0, good for third overall. Moniteau’s Hannah Burgoon (22:53.4) and Jenna Blauser (23:21.0) finished second and third, respectively, for the girls.
EISENHOWER WINS GIRLS RACE VIA TIEBREAKER, ROCKY GROVE TAKES BOYS RACE
FRANKLIN, Pa. – Eisenhower won the tiebreaker to come away with a girls win over Rocky Grove.
The Knights and Orioles came out of the girls race tied at 28, but the tie-breaker went to Eisenhower. The Knights’ sixth place finisher, Kendra Chase, took 10th overall, while the Orioles’ Shayla Kee finished 11th.
The Orioles’ Kaylin Jacoby took top honors in the girls race with a time of 25:06. Eisenhower’s Chloe Lasecki (27:08) and Madison Cathcart (27:30) took second and third, respectively.
Rocky Grove won the boys race, 25-32, with Magnum Vincent (17:24) taking first place. Eisenhower’s Ethan Kellogg narrowly held off the Rocky Grove duo of Ethan Knapp and Evan Wolfgang for second place. Kellogg finished in 18:28, while Knapp and Wolfgang came in at 18:29.
