NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Trailing 46-36 going into the fourth quarter, Mercer outscored Shenango 24-11 over the final eight minutes to earn a 60-57 win at the Ron Galbreath Classic.
Leaving 58-57 with 3.8 seconds left, Braden Balaksi drilled a pair of free throws for Mercer (9-3), and a last ditch attempt by Sheangno was off the mark.
Dae Mattocks had a huge game for Mercer in the win with 28 points to go along with eight steals.
Jayden Amos added nine points and Balaksi eight for the Mustangs.
WEST MIDDLESEX 48, LAUREL 45
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Trailing 35-30 going into the fourth quarter, West Middlesex outscored Laurel 18-10 in the fourth quarter to earn a 48-45 win in the Ron Galbreath Classic.
Roman Golub scored 13 points for the Big Reds, while Caleb Koncar and Shawn Hoffman scored nine points each.
Tyler Shearer scored 17 points for Laurel.
MARS 57, ERIE 50
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Trailing 41-35 going into the fourth quarter, Mars outscored Erie 22-9 in the fourth quarter to earn a 57-50 win in the Ron Galbreath Classic.
Ryan Ceh scored a game-high 23 points for Mars in the win, while Drew Navetta added 12.
Jaheim Mims scored 19 points for Erie, while Layveon Gore added 11.
