WARREN, Pa. – Meadville’s Emma Parks and Clarion-Limestone’s Jenna Dunn are the Week 8 2023 TapNPay+ District 10 and District 9 Volleyball Players of the Week.
It is the second straight week and third time this season Parks has earned the award, while it is the first award for Dunn.
Parks helped Meadville win a pair of big-time matches during the week including a 3-2 victory over Warren on Tuesday, Oct. 17, that clinched the District 10 Region 5 title and earned the Bulldogs the top seed in the District 10 Class 3A playoffs.
In that match, Parks had 26 kills and 25 digs.
She followed that performance up with another stellar effort in a 3-0 win over previously unbeaten Corry, the Region 4 champion and the top seed in the D10 Class 2A playoffs, on Thursday, Oct. 19, when she recorded 24 kills.
Dunn, meanwhile, led Clarion-Limestone to its first conference title since 1988 with wins over Cranberry in the KSAC semifinals and Clarion in the inaugural KSAC championship game.
On Tuesday, Oct. 17, Dunn led the Lady Lions to a 3-1 win over Cranberry with 19 kills and 17 digs.
Then, in the KSAC title game on Wednesday, Oct. 18, she had seven kills and a 3-2 win over Clarion that not only won the conference title for the Lady Lions but also helped them secure the top seed in the upcoming District 9 Class 1A playoffs.
