Kelly to the Rescue: Moniteau Junior Ties Game at End of Regulation, Leads Lady Warriors to OT Win; PA Tops OV

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Catherine Kelly forced overtime with a layup in the final seconds then scored six of her game-high 23 points in the extra session to lift Moniteau to a 48-42 win over visiting West Shamokin.

Trailing 40-38 and without the basketball, Moniteau’s Kendall Sankey came up with a steal with 6.7 seconds left and passed to Kelly, who scored to force overtime.

Kelly then hit a basket and went 4 of 6 from the line in overtime as Moniteau outscored West Shamokin 8-2 in the extra four minutes.

Davina Pry added nine points in the victory for the Lady Warriors with Snakey grabbing 16 rebounds and scoring six points and Kelly dishing out four assists.

                                      

Lily Jordan led West Shamokin with 13 points with Bailey Conrad adding 11.

Moniteau led 26-23 at halftime but trailed 31-29 at the end of the third quarter,

Kelly spearheaded the fourth-quarter comeback scoring six of the Lady Warriors’ 11 points in the quarter.

PORT ALLEGANY 41, OSWAYO VALLEY 28

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Kayleigha Dowell scored 11 points in a balanced offensive effort for Port Allegany, as the Gators defended home court with a 41-28 win over Oswayo Valley.

                          

Ella Moses added nine points, six rebounds, and five steals for Port Allegany with Brynn Evens scoring seven points and hauling down seven rebounds. Evin Stauffer chipped in six points and four assists, and Leigha Nelson had three points and four assists.

Layken Enty had 10 points and six rebounds for Oswayo Valley with Brooke George adding six points and 10 rebounds. Charlotte Austin-Keech chipped in eight points, and Eva West had eight points and two points.

OIL CITY 40, BRADFORD 28

OIL CITY, Pa. – Payton Liederbach scored 14 points to help power Oil City to a 40-28 win over Bradford.

Oil City built a 21-10 halftime lead en route to the win.

Maddy Marczak added eight points for the Oilers.

Korie Dixon led Bradford with eight points, while Carli Persichini added seven.
