WARREN, Pa. – Sydney Rotko put together a banner career, capped off by scoring her 100th career goal as a senior.
Rotko finished the season with 37 goals to go along with 13 assists in helping the Lancers to their second consecutive PIAA playoff appearance, earning the 2023 YDL Sports Network/D9and10Sports District 10 girls’ soccer Player of the Year honors powered by TapNPay+.
She is joined by major award winners Remy Suroviec of General McLane (Rookie of the Year) and coach Yvonne Hammill of D10 Class 1A champion Seneca (Coach of the Year).
Rotko tallied 103 goals in her career, along with 36 assists for a total of 242 points. She helped lead the Lancers to the PIAA Class 2A championship last season.
Hammill helped guide Seneca to its first D10 title in program history this season, beating Mercer, 4-1 in the title game.
Suroviec, meanwhile, burst onto the scene for the Lancers this season, tallying 14 goals and six assists in her rookie campaign.
In addition to the major award winners, YDL Sports Network first- and second-team All-District 10 teams were also named.
