General McLane Boys, Girls, LeBoeuf Girls, Fairview Boys Earn D10 Class 2A Semifinal Wins

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Gio Masone scored a pair of goals as No. 2 General McLane beat No. 6 Mercyhurst Prep 3-0 in the District 10 Class 2A boys’ soccer semifinals.

McLane led 2-0 at halftime.

Cooper Robson had the Lancers’ other goal, while also tallying two assists. Carter Sindlinger also had an assist for GM.

Jonny Kavelish had the shutout in net.

With the win, GM advances to play top seed Fairview for the D10 title on Thursday, Nov. 2 at a site and time to be determined.

            

D10 CLASS 2A GIRLS’ SEMIFINALS

(3) GENERAL MCLANE 2, (2) CATHEDRAL PREP 0

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Remy Suroveic and Sydney Rotko scored in each half as General McLane earned a 2-0 win over Cathedral Prep in the District 10 Class 2A semifinals.

The defending PIAA runner-up Lancers got assists from Sophia Allison and Sam Johnson in the win.

Bella Dibble had the shutout in net.

                          

With the win, GM advances to play top seed Fort LeBoeuf, a 1-0 winner over No. 5 Fairview, for the D10 title on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at a site and time to be determined.

ERIE, Pa. – Ashley Froess’ first-half goal proved to be all top seed and defending D10 champion Fort LeBoeuf needed in a 1-0 win over Fairview.

Gabby Green had the clean sheet in net for the Bison.

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Down 1-0 at halftime, the Bradford Owls showed no panic.

D10 CLASS 2A BOYS’ SEMIFINALS

(1) FAIRVIEW 3, (5) GROVE CITY 1

ERIE, Pa. – Jackson Chiocco scored on a pair of penalty kicks two minutes apart in the final 12 minutes in regulation to give Fairview a 3-1 win over Grove City.

Chiocco’s two goals broke a 1-1 tie and sent the Tigers to the D10 title game.

Jimmy Irani had scored with 23 minutes to go in the second half to tie the game for Grove City.

                        

After a scoreless first half, Daniel Lindenberger scored five minutes into the second half to give Fairview a 1-0 lead.
