Franklin’s Curry, West Middlesex’s Preston Score 38 in Wins; Meadville Outlasts Harbor Creek in Overtime

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Behind a career-high 38 points from Damon Curry, Franklin stayed perfect in Region 6 with an 82-50 win over Titusville.

Curry drained seven 3’s and scored 23 of his 38 in the first half for the Knights, who have now won ten straight games.

Franklin led 39-23 at halftime en route to the win.

Cole Buckley had 14 points for Franklin, while Ethan Owens added 10.

Manny Perez had 15 points for Titusville, while Isaiah Colon added 11.

                                      

WEST MIDDLESEX 73, GEORGE JUNIOR REPUBLIC 35

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Richie Preston fired in 38 points as West Middlesex rolled to a 73-35 win over George Junior Republic.

West Middlesex led 22-8 after the first quarter on its way to the win.

Gio Rococi had 19 points for the Big Reds, while Blaze Knight added eight.

Daniel Franklin had 14 points for GJR.

                          

MEADVILLE 73, HARBOR CREEK 69, overtime

HARBOR CREEK, Pa. – Jack Burchard scored 24 points as Meadville outlasted Harbor Creek in overtime, 73-69.

Meadville outscored Harbor Creek 17-13 in the fourth quarter to force overtime and then outscored the Huskies 7-3 in the extra session.

The Bulldogs led 35-32 at halftime.

Nick Krahe led Harbor Creek with 25 points and 11 rebounds.

UNION CITY 45, COCHRANTON 44

UNION CITY, Pa. – Bryce Drayer scored 13 points as Union City edged Cochranton, 45-44.

Wyatt Post and Brady Blakeslee had 10 points each for the Bears, who outscored Cochranton 11-10 in the fourth quarter, with Post netting a pair of buckets in the final eight minutes.

Landon Homa led Cochranton with 15 points, while Brady Rynd added nine.

WARREN 69, CONNEAUT 41

                                   

WARREN, Pa. – Warren scored 33 points in the first quarter en route to a 69-41 Region 6 win over Conneaut.

The Dragons (11-7 overall, 4-3 Region 6) led 33-6 after the opening eight minutes, as Brady Berdine scored 15 of his 19 points.

Berdine was one of a pair of Dragons in double figures, as Anthony Errett had 12 points. Also for Warren, Chase Sitler had nine points and Konnor Hoffman and Owen Becker had eight each.

Shakiir Jordan had 19 points for CASH.

The Dragons return to action on Friday, hosting Titusville.

FARRELL 96, COMMODORE PERRY 46

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Farrell used a 29-10 second quarter to break the game wide open on its way to a 96-46 Region 1 win over Commodore Perry.

Malachi Owens scored 12 of his 16 points in the second, while Lamont Samuels saved his best for last. Samuels went off for 14 points in the fourth quarter on his way to a game-high 23.

Nasir O’Kane poured in 22 points, and Khanye Matthews added 15 in the win.

Xavier Williams had 24 points for Commodore Perry.

GROVE CITY 59, SHARON 44

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Gavin Lutz scored 23 points as Grove City picked up a key 59-44 Region 5 win over Sharon.

Grove City went on a 20-8 in the second quarter to take a 16-point halftime lead.

Nathan Greer had 16 points (12 in the first half) for Grove City, while Kam Martin had 13 points.

Derek Douglas had 13 points to lead Sharon.

                                  

SAEGERTOWN 67, YOUNGSVILLE 29

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Brady Greco and Sully Zirkle scored 18 points each as Saegertown powered past Youngsville, 67-29.

Saegertown put up 45 points in the first half and led 45-16 at halftime.

Zach Yoder was also in double figures for the Panthers with 12 points, while Henry Shaffer added nine.

Alex Hill and 10 points and Koby Hendrickson had nine for Youngsville.

JAMESTOWN 78, CRAWFORD CHRISTIAN 62

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Cam Keyser led four Jamestown players in double figures with 24 points as the Muskies earned a 78-62 win over Crawford Christian.

Jamestown outscored Crawford Christian in every quarter on its way to the win.

Lucas Popielarcheck had 17 points, while Cole Ternent had 13 and Carter Williams 10.

Allen Miller led Crawford Christian with 20 points.

HICKORY 60, GREENVILLE 38

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Aidan Enoch rifled in 24 points to lift Hickory to a 60-38 win over Greenville.

The Hornets had a monster fourth quarter, outscoring the Trojans 26-8 over the final eight minutes.

Landon Bean added nine points and Ben Swanson eight for Hickory.

Logan Lentz led Greenville with 13 points.

GIRARD 57, FAIRVIEW 43

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Girard got 16 points from Nate Edwards en route to a 57-43 win over Fairview.

Dylan McDonald had 14 points for Girard, which took over sole possession of first place in Region 4.

Vinny Campoli had 14 points and Archie Murphey had 12 for Fairview.

CATHEDRAL PREP 68, GENERAL MCLANE 41

EDINBORO, Pa. – Amaree Pickens scored 18 points as Cathedral Prep won its ninth consecutive game, 68-41.

Semontae Lofton and Jake Sambuchinio added 14 points apiece for the Ramblers, while Mohammed Raham added 10.

MERCER 49, LAKEVIEW 41

MERCER, Pa. – Daemyin Mattocks scored 20 points as Mercer outlasted Lakeview, 49-41 to clinch a share of the Region 2 title.

Lakeview clawed back into the game after trailing 37-23 after three quarters, as Cam Pence and Jake Birkner had 11 points each.

Jake Mattocks added nine points for Mercer.

REYNOLDS 48, SHARPSVILLE 45

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. – Haydin McLaughlin scored 15 points as Reynolds beat Sharpsville, 48-45.

Andrew McCloskey, John McCurdy, and Jake Williams scored eight points each for Reynolds, which led 26-21 at halftime.

Luke Staunch had 14 points and Braden Scarvel 13 for Sharpsville.

OIL CITY 60, CORRY 46

OIL CITY, Pa. – Oil City closed the game on a 21-11 run to earn a 60-46 Region 6 win over Corry.

Ethen Knox scored a career-high 17 points to lead the Oilers, while Sayyid Donald and Jake Hornbeck had 15 points apiece.

Rylan Smith had a game-high 21 points for Corry.

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 45, ROCKY GROVE 23

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Kennedy Catholic outscored Rocky Grove 27-11 in the second half on its way to a 45-23 win over Rocky Grove.

Levi Hailstock scored a game-high 16 points for the Golden Eagles, while Max Southworth added 10.

Quinn Ritchey had nine points for Rocky Grove.

MERCYHURST PREP 62, ERIE FIRST CHRISTIAN 53

ERIE, Pa. – Jeremy Ganska scored 20 points as Mercyhurst Prep earned a 62-53 win over Erie First Christian.

Avery Collins had 14 points for Erie First Christian.

SENECA 64, NORTHWESTERN 37

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Logan Kibbe scored 18 points as Seneca powered past Northwestern, 64-37.

Landon Wayne had 10 points for Northwestern.

FOREST AREA 42, ROCKY GROVE 24

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Amber Guzzi had 11 points, seven rebounds, and four steals, as Forest Area closed out its season with a 42-24 win at Rocky Grove.

Kaylie Rooke added eight points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and three steals for the Fires who also got 11 points and two steals from Jayden Colvin and six points from Tori Brown.

Jalynne Konetsky had seven points for Rocky Grove. .

MONITEAU 62, SLIPPERY ROCK 36

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Behind 18 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals from Catherine Kelly, Moniteau rolled to a 62-36 win over Slippery Rock.

Kendall Sankey added 10 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals for the Lady Warriors with Davina Pry chipping in nine points and eight rebounds, Allie Pry adding eight points, and Abbey Jewart dishing out four assists to go with three points.

Madison Romanovich led Slippery Rock with 15 points with Julia Coffaro adding nine points.
