Fragle Buzzer Beater Gives DCC Boys Third in D9 Class 1A

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Luke Fragle’s 3-pointer just before the horn gave capped a furious fourth-quarter rally by DuBois Central Catholic giving the Cardinals a 50-47 win over Cameron County in the District 9 Class 1A consolation game at St. Marys High School.

Second-seeded DCC trailed 35-25 going to the fourth quarter but doubled its point total in the quarter thanks in large part to going 12 of 15 from the free-throw line.

Fragile and Andrew Green led the comeback.

                                      

Fragale scored all seven of his points in the fourth quarter including 4 of 4 from the line, while Green added seven of his 10 points in the quarter and also hit a 3-pointer while going 2 of 2 from the line.

Marke Hoyt and Luke Swisher led DCC with 13 points each.

Camdyn Allison had a game-high 17 points for Cameron County with Ryan Shaffer and Josh Smith each scoring 11.

The Red Raiders stayed in the game in the fourth quarter in part by going 10 of 12 from the line.

Both teams advance to the PIAA playoffs.

                          

DCC will play the Harmony, the District 6 runner-up. Harmony has the option of that being a home game. The Cardinals beat Harmony 68-58 at Harmony Dec. 14. The PIAA game is slated for Friday, March 10.

Cameron County will face District 6 champion Portage. Portage has the option of hosting that game. The game will be Friday, March 10.
