ECC Boys Move to 18-1 on the Year with Rout of Sheffield; DuBois Rolls Past St. Marys

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Colby Nussbaum and Michael Jacobs combined for 22 points in Elk County Catholic’s 51-27 home AML win over Sheffield.

Nussbaum led the Crusaders with 12 points with Jacobs adding 10 points.

Jordan Wasko added seven points for ECC.

Connor Finch led Sheffield with 17 points.

DUBOIS 65, ST. MARYS 42

                                      

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Building a 17-point halftime lead, DuBois cruised to a 65-42 road D9 League win over St. Marys.

The Beavers led 40-23 at halftime thanks in part to 14 points from Cam Thompson, who finished with 16 points.

Tyson Kennis led DuBois with 20 points, while Aiden West hit three first-half 3-pointers and scored nine points.

Tanner Fox led St. Marys with 13 points with Anthony Nedzinski and Tyler Mitchell each adding seven points.

KARNS CITY 62, REDBANK VALLEY 38

                          

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Using a strong defensive effort, Karns City rolled past visiting Redbank Valley, 62-38, in KSAC Large School action.

The Gremlins swiped 14 balls in the game turning many of those into points.

Micah Rupp had six steals, Hobie Bartoe added five steals, and Taite Beighley had two steals in the victory.

Beighley led the Gremlins with 18 points and also added five rebounds and six assists.

Bartoe added 15 points, three rebounds, and three assists, while Rupp had nine points, six steals, seven rebounds, four blocks, and three helpers.

Also for Karns City, Shane Peters scored eight points and added five rebounds with Braden Grossman contributing two points, five assists, and four rebounds.

Kieran Fricko hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points to pace Redbank Valley with Braylon Wagner adding 12 points.

MONITEAU 56, CRANBERRY 46

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Moniteau used a balanced effort to pick up a 56-46 win over Cranberry.

Colton Thomas led Moniteau with 13 points with Aydan Jackson adding 12 points, and David Martino 10 points.

                                   

David Dessicino added eight points for Moniteau.

Seth Schwab led Cranberry with 15 points, Ashton Weaver added 11, and Colin Zerbe had 10 points.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 68, KEYSTONE 46

KNOX, Pa. – In a game that saw three starters missing combined between the two teams, Clarion-Limestone toppled homestanding Keystone, 68-46.

The Lions were without Jase Ferguson, who might be done for the season with an elbow injury, while Keystone was missing both Tyler Albright and Aiden Sell to slight ankle injuries.

With Ferguson, C-L turned to a pair of role-playing juniors to pick up some of the slack.

Jack Craig had six points, eight assists, four rebounds, and three steals, and Jack Callen added 10 points, six rebounds, six steals, and four assists.

Alex Painter led C-L with 16 points and four steals, Jordan Hesdon added 10 points, five steals, and three assists, Rylie Kliingensmith scored 10 points, Ty Rankin added eight points and six rebounds, and Tommy Smith had seven points, three steals, and three assists.

Cole Henry led Keystone with 14 points with Drew Keth adding 13 points and Kyle Nellis nine points.

NORTH CLARION 51, A-C VALLEY 39

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – District 9’s leading scorer Aiden Hartle had another big game pouring in 29 points to help North Clarion upset visiting A-C Valley, 51-39.

Hartle, who came into the game averaging 24.5 ppg, knocked down four 3-pointers and scored throughout the night for the Wolves, who led 30-17 at halftime.

Drake Irwin added nine points and Zeelan Hargenrader seven for North Clarion.

Alex Preston led A-C Valley with 13 points with Jay Clover adding 10 points.

UNION 76, FOREST AREA 10

                                  

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Payton Johnston and Skyler Roxbury combined for 35 points in Union’s 76-10 home win over Forest Area.

Johnston led the Golden Knights with 18 points while adding five steals, two rebounds, and three assists, while Roxbury contributed 17 points and two assists.

Owen Bish chipped in nine points with Trent Fleming and Hayden Smith each scoring eight points. Dawson Camper grabbed nine rebounds to go with five points.

Mitch Bawden and Colter Boyle each scored three points for Forest Area, which scored all 10 of its points before halftime.

CLEARFIELD 65, HUNTINGDON 50

HYDE, Pa. – A game-high 27 points from Cole Miller helped Clearfield to wins on back-to-back nights thanks to a 65-50 victory over visiting Huntingdon.

Miller added five rebounds and five assists for the Bison who also got 16 points from Braison Patrick, who went 8 of 9 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Morgen Billotte added 11 points and seven rebounds in the win.

Jack Foster and Jack Henney each scored 14 points for Huntingdon.

PORT ALLEGANY 49, GALETON 37

GALETON, Pa. – Jarrod Funk’s career-high 20 points lifted Port Allegany past homestanding Galeton, 49-37, in NTL action.

Funk added four rebounds, three blocked shots, and two steals.

Drew Evens contributed 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal for the Gators who also got six points, nine rebounds, and three assists from Blaine Moses and six points and six rebounds from Braylon Button.

John Martin led Galeton with 15 points.

RIDGWAY 58, VENANGO CATHOLIC 15

RIDGWAY, Pa. – Led by 16 points from Alex Merritt, 11 different RIdgway players scored in a 58-15 win over visiting Venango Catholic.

Hunter Beeler added nine points for the Elkers who also got eight, all in the first quarter from Jack Benninger.

Behind Benniger and Merritt, who scored seven of his points in the first quarter, Ridgway built a 17-3 lead at the end of eight minutes and then expanded that to 38-3 by halftime.

Logan Suttle paced Venango Catholic with six points with James Henry adding five points.

WILLIAMSBURG 65, CURWENSVILLE 56

WILLIAMSBURG, Pa. – Up just three points going to the fourth quarter, Williamsburg pulled away from visiting Curwensville for a 65-56 ICC North win.

The Blue Pirates led 41-38 after 24 minutes of action but hit 14 of 17 free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Rowan Gorsuch, who was 8 of 10 in the fourth quarter from the line, led Williamsburg with 18 points with Jesse Brumbaugh scoring seven of his 15 points in the fourth quarter – one from the line. Zach Kararise also had 17 points in the win.

Parker Wood and Davis Fleming each had 22 points to lead Curwensville.
