O-E Girls Secure Second Straight NTL Title; St. Marys Edges DuBois in Low-Scoring Affair

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Katie Sheeler had 27 points, five rebounds, and three steals as Otto-Eldred secured its second straight NTL title with a 63-24 win over visiting Austin.

It is the second time in school history the Lady Terrors have won back-to-back league titles as they secured titles in 1977 and 1978 (those were fall seasons only).

Anna Merry and Brooke Close each added eight points for Otto-Eldred with Bri Heller chipping in six points, five rebounds, and four steals, and Carrier Drummond scoring six points.

Isabella Rees had eight points, five rebounds, three steals, two assists, and a block for Austin.

ST. MARYS 25, DUBOIS 22

                                      

DUBOIS, Pa. – Outscoring homestanding DuBois 18-5 in the second half, including 7-2 in the fourth quarter, St. Marys rallied for a 25-22 win.

The Lady Dutch trailed 17-7 at halftime but Izzy Catalone hit a pair of second-half 3-pointers and Jayssa Snelick and Maura Caskey both added six points in the half as well.

Caskey led St. Marys with nine points with Catalone and Snelick each scoring six.

Alexas Pfeufer paced DuBois with six points with Madison Rusnica scoring all five of her points in the second half accounting for all five of the Lady Beavers’ second-half tallies.

PORT ALLEGANY 39, KANE 30

                          

KANE, Pa. – Brynn Evens had a solid all-around game to help Port Allegany pick up its fifth straight win thanks to a 39-30 road victory over Kane.

Evens had 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals for the Lady Gators, who have won 11 of their last 12 games.

Kayleigha Dowell added nine points in the win with Evin Stauffer scoring eight.

Ella Moses grabbed nine rebounds for Port Allegany while scoring six points, and Leigha Nelson had four steals.

Cora Jekielek led Kane with 12 points with Maya Smith adding 10.

RIDGWAY 53, JOHNSONBURG 35

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Another magnificent night from Jenna Kasmierski helped Ridgway to a 53-35 road win over Johnsonburg.

Kasmierski had a game-high 24 points to go with 13 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Kristen Ellenberger added 10 points, four assists, and six steals for the Lady Elkers who also got eight points, four steals, and three assists from Gabby Amacher.

Cadence Brechtel had a career-high 20 points for Johnsonburg while hitting six 3-pointers.

                                   

PUNXSUTAWNEY 74, BROOKVILLE 19

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Chloe Presloid led a foursome of Punxsutawney players in double digits with 23 points to continue its dominance over Brookville with a 74-19 win at Brookville.

It was the 19th straight victory for the Lady Chucks over the Lady Raiders, who haven’t won the Route 36 rivalry game since Jan. 29, 2013. The victory also moved Punxsutawney another step closer to a seventh straight D9 League title since 2016 (there was no D9 League in 2021). The Lady Chucks are 65-2 in league play since then.

Presloid added seven rebounds, six steals, and two assists.

Emily Dobbins added 11 points and six rebounds with Danielle Griebel chipping in 10 points, eight assists, six rebounds, and three steals, and Avary Powell contributing 10 points, five rebounds, three steals, and two assists.

Reggan Olson and Eden Wonderling both scored four points for Brookville.

COUDERSPORT 54, CAMERON COUNTY 40

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Olivia Fink, Emma Chambers, and Sierra Myers combined for 40 points, as Coudersport beat visiting Cameron County, 54-40, in NTL action.

Fink led the Lady Falcons with 16 points and five rebounds, Chambers added 14 points, five assists, and five steals, and Myers chipped in 10 points.

Naveah Spaeth led Cameron County with 12 points with Aubree Lorenzo adding 11 points.

SMETHPORT 50, GALETON 23

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Abby Lutz had a career-high 20 points to go with three rebounds and five steals, as Smethport picked up a 50-29 home win over Galeton in NTL action.

Elizabeth Hungiville added 18 points, 15 rebounds, and six steals for the Lady Hubbers.

Jaidyn Goodman added eight rebounds, four assists, and three points in the win.

Olivia Rohrbaugh had 13 points for Galeton.
