Franklin Takes Command of Region 6; Slippery Rock Picks Up Big Win Feb. 3, 2023

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Franklin outscored Warren 24-8 in the third quarter en route to a 69-48 win.

The Knights, who led 24-20 at halftime, scored 45 points in the second half. Cole Buckley led the way with 16 points, while Jalen Wood knocked down four 3’s en route to 14 points and Jonathon Leccia had 13 points.

Brady Berdine led Warren with a game-high 17 points, while Tommy Nyquist added 12.

MERCER 60, SHARPSVILLE 41

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. – Jake Mattocks scored 18 points and Nate Haines 11 to lead Mercer to a 60-41 win over Sharpsville.

                                      

Mercer went on a 23-11 run in the third quarter to take control.

Braden Scarvel led Sharpsville with 14 points.

GROVE CITY 50, HICKORY 35

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Nathan Greer scored 17 points as Grove City powered past Hickory, 50-35.

Gavin Lutz added 10 points for Grove City in the win, while Kam Martin and Jimmy Irani added nine each.

                          

Rylan Dye paced Hickory with 12 points.

GREENVILLE 53, WILMINGTON 27

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Noah Philson had 17 points as Greenville earned a 53-27 win over Wilmington.

Greenville built a 35-12 halftime lead en route to the win.

Mason Vannoy and Logan Lentz added nine points each for Greenville.

Anthony Reed paced Wilmington with 10 points.

SLIPPERY ROCK 55, SHARON 41

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock built a 14-4 lead after the first quarter en route to a 55-41 win over Sharon.

John Sabo led Slippery Rock with 16 points, while Dylan Gordon had 10 points and Jacob Wolak eight.

Derek Douglas had 15 points and Santino Piccirilli 14 for Sharon.

                                   

OIL CITY 75, TITUSVILLE 55

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Jake Hornbeck led four Oil City players in double figures with 19 points as the Oilers earned a 75-55 win over Titusville.

Hornbeck also had 11 rebounds, while Cam VanWormer had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Ethen Knox 11 points and Connor Highfield 10 points.

Isaiah Colon had a game-high 20 points for Titusville, while Manny Perez added 13 points.

ROCKY GROVE 58, COCHRANTON 38

COCHRANTON, Pa. – D’Andre Whitman led a balanced Rocky Grove effort with 12 points in a 58-38 win over Cochranton.

Rocky Grove went on an 18-7 run in the second quarter to take control.

Evan Wolfgong was also in double figures for Rocky Grove with 10 points, while Quinn Ritchey, Alex Zinz, and Landon Carter added eight each.

Walker Carroll had 13 points for Cochranton, while Chase Miller added 11.

FARRELL 75, JAMESTOWN 63

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Farrell built a 34-20 halftime lead on its way to a 75-63 win over Jamestown.

Dontaye Bell knocked down six 3’s en route to a game-high 21 points for the Steelers, while Lamont Samuels had 12 points and Kylon Wilson nine.

Cam Keyser had a monster game for Jamestown, scoring 34 points, 24 of which came in the second half.

Carter Williams and Lucas Popielarcheck had seven points each for Jamestown.

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 54, COMMODORE PERRY 32

                                  

HADLEY, Pa. – Thorsten Hart scored 15 points to lead Kennedy Catholic to a 54-32 win over Commodore Perry.

The Golden Eagles went on a 20-5 run in the first quarter en route to the win.

Levi Hailstock added 14 points and Nick Ondo 10 for KC.

Christian Saxe led Commodore Perry with 14 points.

CATHEDRAL PREP 80, FORT LEBOEUF 31

WATERFORD, Pa. – Zion Barksdale led a balanced effort with 16 points as Cathedral Prep powered past Fort LeBoeuf, 80-31.

Jake Sambuchino and Amaree Pickens were also in double figures with 13 and 10 points respectively for the Ramblers, while Semonate Lofton added nine.

MCDOWELL 63, HARBOR CREEK 46

ERIE, Pa. – Tyler Grove poured in 23 points as McDowell earned a 63-46 win over Harbor Creek.

The Trojans secured a regular season sweep over the Huskies with the win.

Nick Krahe led Harbor Creek with 12 points.

WEST MIDDLESEX 50, REYNOLDS 42

TRANSFER, Pa. – Richie Preston poured in 20 points to lift West Middlesex to a 50-42 win over Reynolds.

Gio Rococi had 17 points for the Big Reds, who outscored Reynolds 18-12 in the fourth quarter en route to the victory.

Connor Stover added eight points for the Big Reds.

Jake Williams had 15 points to lead Reynolds.

LAKEVIEW 63, GEORGE JUNIOR REPUBLIC 31

STONEBORO, Pa. – Cam Pence scored 18 points to lead Lakeview to a 63-31 win over GJR.

Lucas Fgley and Maddox Bell were also in double figures for Lakeview with 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Marquis Lias led GJR with 13 points.

FAIRVIEW 67, NORTHWESTERN 29

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Archie Murphey poured in 21 points as Fairview earned a 67-29 win over Northwestern.

Jacob Nelson was also in double figures for Fairview, which has now won nine-straight games.

Landon Wayne had eight points for Northwestern.
