WARREN, Pa. – Korrin Burns had a season for the ages in leading Clarion to its second consecutive PIAA Class 1A volleyball title, and that is the reason Burns is the D9and10Sports.com District 9 Volleyball MVP Powered by All American Awards & Engraving.

The Lady Cats senior, who was tri-MVP in 2020 with teammates Brenna Campbell and Erica Selfridge, led Clarion with a District 9-best 581 kills (5.98 per set) while hitting .343. She also was the team leader in digs (220, 2.3 per set), and aces (54) while ranking second in blocks with 25.

Heading to St. Francis (Pa.) on a volleyball scholarship, Burns’ 581 kills ranked tied for 63rd nationally among teams who entered stats into MaxPreps.com and first in Pennsylvania, while her 5.98 per set were fifth-most in Pennsylvania.

Joining Burns in being honored with major awards are her coach, Shari Campbell, as the D9and10Sports.com District 9 Coach of the Year, and Brockway’s Kalina Powell, as the D9and10Sports.com District 9 Rookie of the Year.

Campbell led Clarion to its second consecutive PIAA Class 1A title and in the process won her third state title as a head coach. Clarion is just the fourth team to win back-to-back Class 1A PIAA championships. The Lady Cats also won their fourth straight District 9 titles and the 15th in Campbell’s 23 years at the school, and its 19th KSAC championship under Campbell, who is 426-64 in her career at the school. This is Campbell’s second consecutive Coach of the Year honor.

Powell, a freshman Libero, had 324 digs for the Lady Rovers. She is the inaugural D9and10sports.com District 9 Rookie of the Year.

In addition to the major award winners, a first- and second-team All-District 9 team was also named. That team is listed below.
