WARREN, Pa. – With one big swing, Alix Lytle sent Warren to a 5-2 win in an early-season showdown against Villa Maria.

With the game tied at 2-2 and two outs and two on in the bottom of the seventh, Lytle took a 2-0 pitch and deposited it over the fence for a walk-off three-run home run.

Lytle’s heroics were set up by Ellee Irwin and Alana Stuart, who delivered back-to-back singles with two outs.

It was part of a 3-for-4, four-RBI effort for Lytle.

“That was insane,” Lytle said. “I hit and I rounded first and I saw it and I thought that’s the way to start the season, especially against Villa. That was a big one.”

In the circle, Stuart went all seven innings, allowing seven hits and two walks while striking out nine.

Villa trailed 2-1 going into the top of the seventh but tied the game on Annabella Cipalla’s RBI double, her third two-bagger of the game.
