Allegretto Leads PA Boys Past NY in Big 30 Senior Classic; PA Girls fall to NY

PORTVILLE, N.Y. – Domenic Allegretto scored a game-high 24 points to lead Team Pennsylvania to a 109-96 win over Team New York in the Big 30 Senior Classic Basketball All-Star Game at Portville Central (N.Y.) High School Sunday.

Allegretto, from Ridgway, was one of five Pennsylvania players to reach double digits in the contest, which featured 129 second-half points (66 by PA and 63 by NY) after PA led 43-33 at halftime.

Kane’s Andy Jekielek added 17 points for Team Pennsylvania, including 14 in the second half, while Bradford’s Cam Austin and Elk County Catholic’s Charlie Briendel each scored 12 points.

Also reaching double digits for Team PA was ECC’s Luke Jansen with 11 points while Cameron County’s Hayden Brown chipped in eight points.

Blake Frank of Franklinville paced Team New York with 22 points with Olean’s Kamdyn McClain adding 17 points.

                                      

Also in double figures for New York were New Life Christian’s Tim Hutter with 11 points and Wellsville’s Eli Schmidt and Bolivar-Richburg’s Landon Danaher with 10 points each. Olean’s Zion James contributed eight points.

NEW YORK GIRLS ALL OVER PENNSYLVANIA

In the girls’ game, New York had little trouble topping Pennsylavania, 64-35.

New York grabbed a 32-19 halftime lead then held Pennsylavnia to 16 second-half points.

Allegany-Limestone’s Gianna DeRose, Fillmore’s Jadyn Mucher, and Pioneer’s Myah Fox each had 10 points to lead the NY squad with Cattaraugas’s Alex Minnekine chipping in nine points.

                          

St. Marys’s Isabelle Caskey paced Pennsylavnia with 10 points with Northern Potter’s Courtney Martin adding eight and Ridgway’s Payton Delhunty seven.
