ACV/Union, ECC, DuBois Win D9 Competitive Spirit Titles

KNOX, Pa. – A-C Valley/Union (Small Division), Elk County Catholic (Large Division), and DuBois (Co-Ed Division) won District 9 Competitive Spirit titles Saturday at Keystone High School.

In addition to those three, Karns City, St. Marys, and Redbank Valley all advanced to the PIAA championships being held Jan. 26-27 in Hershey, Pa., by having the next three highest scores.

A-C Valley/Union beat out four other teams for the D9 title in the Small Division outpacing second-place St. Marys, 74 points to 72.3 points.

In the two-team Co-Ed Division, DuBois had 72.9 points to Keystonhe’s 67.2 points.

In the two-team Large Division, ECC had 77.8 points to Karns City’s 72.4 points.

Karns City was the highest-scoring non-champion with 72.4 points, St. Marys was second with 72.3 points, and Redbank Valley was third with 71.7 points to earn the three additional PIAA Championship berths.
