Q&A

Q: How did you get involved in playing sports?
A: My whole family has always played them, and I grew up around sports. I was always at Alyssa and Maddie’s games and watched on tv with my dad.

Q: What is the most enjoyable thing you have ever had happen to you on an athletic field?
A: I enjoyed wining our first playoff game in 33 years in football.

Q: If you could go to any event (it doesn’t have to be a sporting event) in the world, what would it be and why? *
A: If I could go to any event I would love to go to the Winter Olympics. I love skiing and being in the snow so it would be awesome to see the athletes at the very top skill level of the sport.

Q: What teacher has had the most impact on you in school? Why?
A: The teacher who has had the most impact on me is Mr. Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn is my neighbor and also is prominent in the school. He has had the most impact on me because of what he talks about and how he treats people. He is always willing to talk about anything and always has great advice. He also is just a very honest and will tell you how it is. I enjoy that because there’s no gray area if you have a question about school or life.

Q: Do you have any superstitions in any of the sports you play?
A: My one superstition is in baseball. When I am hitting, I have to have something to chew on to take my mind off the game. When I don’t chew gum or sunflower seeds or even, I’ll chew bottle caps. I don’t hit as well as when I do.

Q: You have one day where you can do anything your heart desires. Cost is not a factor. What would it be?
A: I would like to travel out west and hunt elk in the mountains.

Q: If you could go back in time, where would you go and why?
A: I would go back to 1989 so I could see my dad in his senior year win the KSAC in football and basketball. I would also love to meet all of his family and brothers. As well as the people who were on his team during the championship years.

Q: Is there anything you wish we would have asked you? If so, what is the question/answer?
A: If you could meet any person past or present who would it be. I would like to talk to my uncle Bubba again. When he passed, I was young and everyone I talk to said he was the nicest guy they ever met, and many people have so much respect for him. I would love to talk about the world and sports with him using my knowledge I have now.
