Weaver Solid in Brookville Win; Lauer Tosses Shutout for Clarion; CVille, C-L Get One-Run Wins

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Carson Weaver tossed a four-hitter to lift visiting Brookville to a 4-1 win over Brockway.

Weaver needed just 89 pitches to go seven innings allowing one earned run on four hits and three walks while striking out seven.

Noah Shaffer had a pair of hits for the Raiders going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Andrew Brubaker was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Brockway.

CLARION 6, MONIETAU 0

BUTLER, Pa. – Devon Lauer threw a five-hit shutout to lead Clarion to a 6-0 win over Moniteau at Michelle Krill Memorial Field at Historic Pullman Park in Butler.

Lauer didn’t walk a batter and struck out seven.

Dawson Smail led the Bobcat offense going 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored.

                          

Noah Harrison added a pair of RBIs for Clarion going 1-for-2 with a triple and a run scored, and Bryce Brinkley went 1-for-1 with two runs scored.

Keagan Book was 2-for-3 for Moniteau.

Dawson Wallace took the loss going seven innings allowing six runs, five earned, on nine hits and a walk while striking out four.

CURWENSVILLE 14, JUNIATA VALLEY 13

               

ALEXANDRIA, Pa. – Scoring four times in the top of the seventh inning, Curwensville stunned Juniata Valley, 14-13.

The Tide scored nine times over their final three at-bats to erase a 10-5 deficit going to the fifth.

The go-ahead run for Curwensville scored on a balk with one out in the seventh after a Juniata Valley error had tied the game.

Lawson Neiswender hit a home run in the game for the Golden Tide and was 3-for-5 with an RBI and five runs scored.

Christian Fegert had four hits in the win going 4-for-4 with a double, a walk, three RBIs, and four runs scored, while Logan Kunkle, Ayden Sutika, and Cael Butler also had three hits apiece.

Kunkle was 3-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs, Sutika was 3-for-5 with two runs scored, and two RBIs, and Butler was 3-for-4 with a run scored.

Merek Sutika also drove in three runs for Curwensville going 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Aidan Finn got the win going two innings allowing three runs, one earned, on three hits and a walk.

Fegert picked up the save throwing a scoreless inning striking out two.

Neiswender started and went an inning giving up seven runs, six earned, on seven hits. Ayden Sutika then pitched three innings allowing three earned runs on four hits and two walks.

            

CLARION-LIMESTONE 6, KARNS CITY 5

BUTLER, Pa. – Nick Aaron went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI to help Clarion-Limestone pick up a 6-5 win over Karns City at Michelle Krill Memorial Field at Historic Pullman Park in Butler.

Jordan Hesdon added a pair of hits going 2-for-4 with a run scored, and an RBI, while Brayden Murray drove in two runs for the Lions going 1-for-3.

Troy Nagel was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs for Karns City, while Mallick Metcalfe went 2-for-4 with a double and Wyatt Fleming was 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs.

Tommy Smith got the win going five innings allowing two unearned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six.

Logan Lutz pitched two innings giving up three earned runs on three hits, a walk, and a hit batter while striking out three.

Metcalfe took the loss going four innings allowing six runs, five earned, on eight hits and three walks while striking out two.

Jacob Jones pitched three scoreless innings allowing a hit while striking out two.

KANE 4, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 1

MT. JEWETT, Pa. – Brock Wensel and Phinn Chamberlain combined to allow eight hits, as Kane took care of visiting Elk County Catholic, 4-1, in Mt. Jewett.

Wensel got the win going six innings allowing an unearned run on seven hits and three walks while striking out three.

Chamberlain picked up the save throwing a scoreless seventh allowing a hit while striking out one.

Isaya Miller led the Kane offense going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.

Colby Nussbaum went 2-for-3 with a run scored for ECC, while Frankie Smith was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Charlie Geci was 2-for-4.

Isaac Dellaquilla took the loss going three innings allowing two earned runs on two hits and eight walks while striking out eight.

KEYSTONE 9, NORTH CLARION 5

KNOX, Pa. – Chaz Renninger and Noah Weckerly each drove in two runs to help Keystone beat North Clarion, 9-5, in Knox.

Renninger was 2-for-3 while Weckerly was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, and a run scored.

Aiden Hartle had a pair of doubles for North Clarion going 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Kyle Rusiewicz also had two doubles while going 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Wade Peters added a pair of hits in the loss for the Wolves as well.

Wecklerly got the win going five innings allowing an earned run on four hits and three walks while striking out seven.

Drew Keth went two innings allowing four earned runs on six hits while striking out two.

Peters took the loss going ⅔ of an inning allowing six runs, three earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out two.

Hartle came in and went 5 ⅓ innings allowing three earned runs on two hits, five walks, and a hit batter while striking out 12.

PORT ALLEGANY 10, SMETHPORT 4

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Drew Evens was 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs to lead Port Allegany to a 10-4 win at Smethport.

Henry Troupe and LXXX Howard each added two hits for the Gators with Troupe going 2-for-4 with a run scored and Howards going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Blaine Moses scored three times in the win going 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Keegen Watson was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Smethport with Brentton McDowell going 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, and an RBI.

McDowell took the loss going 5 ⅔ innings allowing nine runs, three earned, on nine hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Watson pitched 1 ⅓ innings allowing an earned run on three hits and a walk while striking out one.

REDBANK VALLEY 13, A-C VALLEY/UNION 4

FAIRMOUNT CITY, Pa. – Scoring eight runs in its final two at-bats and 11 in its final three, Redbank Valley broke open a close game late to beat visiting A-C Valley/Union, 13-4.

The game was tied at three going to the bottom of the fourth when the Bulldogs scored twice to take the lead for good. They then added three more in the fifth and five in the sixth.

Mason Clouse homered and doubled for Redbank Valley going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBIs.

His brother, Owen Clouse, added a three-hit day going 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, while Breckin Minich was 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Chase Ruth went 2-for-3 for A-C Valley/Union, while Zach Cooper walked twice and had an RBI and Bailey Crissman drove in two.

Ty Carrier got the win going four innings allowing three unearned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out four.

Braylon Wagner, Tate Minich, and Jaxon Huffman each pitched an inning.

Wagner gave up an unearned run on a hit and a walk, Minich didn’t give up anything and struck out two, and Huffman struck out one.

Crissman took the loss pitching four innings allowing eight earned runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out five. Sebastian Link pitched 1 ⅓ innings allowing five earned runs on five hits while striking out one, and Alex Preston went ⅔ of an inning scoreless striking out two.

OTTO-ELDRED 16, CAMERON COUNTY 3, 5 INNINGS

EMPORIUM, Pa. – In a matchup of two of the top teams in the NTL, Otto-Eldred stayed unbeaten while handing homestanding Cameron County just its second loss, 16-3, in five innings.

An eight-run third and a five-run fifth were the big innings for the Terrors.

Landon Francis and Austin Cousins each had three hits for O-E, while Manning Splain drove in four runs.

Francis was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs, while Cousins was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Manning Splain went 1-for-3 with a triple, two walks, and a run scored.

Max Splain and Cal Minich each contributed two hits in the victory with Max Splain going 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a run scored, and Minich going 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Jared Obenrader (1-for-4, 1 R, 1 RBI) and Brendan Magee (1-for-2, 2 walks, 2 R, 1 RBI) also got in on the action, while Zach Shuessler walked twice, scored twice, and drove in two runs.

Ryan Shaffer was 2-for-2 with two doubles and a run scored for Cameron County.

Max Splain picked up the complete-game win going five innings allowing three earned runs on six hits, two walks, and two hit batters while striking out 10.

Shaffer took the loss going 2 ⅔ innings allowing nine runs, eight earned, on six hits, four walks, and a hit batter while striking out four.

BELLEFONTE 4, CLEARFIELD 0

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – Peyton Vancas tossed a six-hit shutout to lead Bellefonte to a 4-0 home win over Clearfield.

Vancas walked three and struck out four.

Morgen Billotte and Hunter Rumsky each had two hits for Clearfield with one of Billotte’s being a double.

Elijah Quick took the loss going 4 ⅓ innings allowing three earned runs on two hits, six walks, and a hit batter while striking out three. Christian Walker pitched 1 ⅔ innings allowing an earned run on two hits and two walks.
