Soft: Prep, Cochranton, Union City Roll to Wins; Bayer’s Slam Helps Lift Sharon Past Oil City Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

WARREN, Pa. – Camryn Chimera, Sarah Dudenhoeffer and Sophia Primavere all homered as Cathedral Prep beat Warren, 13-0 in five innings.

Cathedral Prep scored in every inning, as Chimera and Primavere drove in three runs each, while Dudenhoeffer and Paige Simmerman drove in two apiece. Madison Simmerman walked four times.

Madison Simmerman got the win, allowing just two hits over her five innings of work, striking out nine without issuing a walk.

Lillian Devore took the loss for Warren, allowing nine runs (six earned) in 4 ⅔ innings, allowing eight hits and striking out one.

COCHRANTON 15, EISENHOWER 5, 5 innings

                  

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Dani Hoffman hit a solo home run, part of a 3-hit day as Cochranton beat Eisenhower, 15-5.

Brooklyn Needler was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for the Cardinals, who had six other players drive in one run each.

Needler got the win, allowing one run in four innings on four hits, striking out five without issuing a walk.

Julia Gesing was 1-for-2 with a pair of RBIs for Eisenhower.

Samantha Childs took the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) in two innings on two hits, walking three.

                          

CORRY 5, HICKORY 3

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Allison Sawyer was 2-for-4 with an RBI as Corry outlasted Hickory, 5-3.

Corry extended its lead to 5-2 with a pair of runs in the sixth inning, as Sawyer drilled a pair of doubles.

Sawyer also got the win, scattering eight hits over her seven innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out five.

Olivia Schneider tripled and hit a solo home run for Hickory, while Hallie Miller was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

               

Miller took the loss, allowing three runs on four hits in four innings, striking out five.

SHARON 6, OIL CITY 1

SHARON, Pa. – Leading 2-1, Sharon’s Dalani Bayer blasted a grand slam in the sixth inning to help the Lady Tigers to a 6-1 win over Oil City.

Sharon took an early 1-0 lead on a Lacey Root bunt that brought in Kurtasia Chester.

Maya Bundrant also had a 2-out RBI single in the fifth for Sharon.

Maddy Vogan got the win, allowing just one run on one hit in her seven innings of work, striking out 17 and walking three.

Sophia Garmong took the loss for Oil City, allowing six runs on six hits, striking out 11 and walking five. Garmong also had a double and a run scored.

MEADVILLE 3, MCDOWELL 1

ERIE, PA. – Lila Kightlinger fired a 1-hitter to help lead Meadville to a 3-1 win over McDowell.

            

Kightlinger struck out eight and walked five.

Meadville scored single runs in the first, sixth and seventh innings, with Grace Curtis and Rylee Kregel notching one RBI each. Kregel also had two of Meadville’s five hits.

Gabby DeLuca was the tough-luck loser for McDowell, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out six and walking three.

FORT LEBOEUF 5, FAIRVIEW 1, 8 innings

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Lillian McKinney’s 2-run single in the eighth inning helped Fort LeBoeuf to a 5-1 win over Fairview.

Londyn Davis also had a sacrifice fly in the four-run eighth for the Bison.

Davis and McKinney finished with two RBIs each.

Kiernan Skelton got the win, allowing just four hits in her eight innings of work, striking out nine and walking two.

Carissa Worline took the loss, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits in her eight innings, striking out seven without issuing a walk.

UNION CITY 13, GIRARD 3, 6 innings

GIRARD, Pa. – Cheyenne Cummings drove in a pair of runs as Union City topped Girard, 13-3 in six innings.

Union City scored five runs in the first inning and four more in the third. Five different Union City players had one RBI each.

Alyssa Tingley tossed three shutout innings for UC, allowing three hits and striking out three.

Rorie Lawrence hit a 3-run home run for Girard.

Cate Bennett took the loss, allowing five earned runs in six innings on 15 hits, striking out three and walking one.

TITUSVILLE 9, GROVE CITY 6

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Kasey Krepps belted a grand slam in the third inning as Titusville beat Grove City, 9-6.

Krepps finished with five RBIs, while Jordan Wynn was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Kyra Atkins was 4-for-5 with two runs.

Wynn got the victory, scattering 14 hits over seven innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out seven.

Johanna Smiley was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Grove City.

Kara Kirk took the loss, allowing nine runs (six earned) in five innings on 11 hits, striking out five and walking two.

MAPLEWOOD 10, YOUNGSVILLE 0, 5 innings

GUYS MILLS, Pa.- Rhinn Post fired a two-hitter to help Maplewood to a 10-0, 5-inning win over Youngsville.

Post struck out nine and walked two.

Lexus Whtiman was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Maplewood, while Madyson Banik was 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs and Jocelyn Lane 2-for-3 with two runs.

MERCER 15, REYNOLDS 0, 3 innings

MERCER, Pa. – Angelina Eakman pitched three perfect innings and also homered in Mercer’s 15-0, 3-inning win over Reynolds.

Eakman recorded eight strikeouts in the circle and had a pair of RBIs at the plate.

Kailyn Adams was 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, triple and four RBIs for Mercer, while Ainsley Baldwin and Phoebe Eakman drove in two runs each.
