Soft: Hallman Gem Lifts Punxsy to Upset of Bald Eagle; Andreano Drive in Four in Otto-Eldred Victory powered by N. Washington Rodeo

WINGATE, Pa. – Brinley Hallman pitched the best game of her career as Punxsutawney upset Bald Eagle Area, 2-1, at Bald Eagle.

Hallman went seven innings giving up one run on seven hits and a walk while striking out six.

Emily Dobbins provided all the offense the Lady Chucks needed going 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Hallman also doubled while going 1-for-4.

Savannah Albright took the loss for Bald Eagle, which entered the game 12-2, going seven innings allowing two earned runs on six hits, two walks, and three hit batters. She struck out nine.

                  

Alexis Baney was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for the Bald Eagles.

OTTO-ELDRED 13, GALETON 1, 5 INNINGS

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Kyla Andreano was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs scored, and four RBIs to lead Otto-Eldred to a 13-1, five-inning win over visiting Galeton.

Kate Rhinehart added a triple while going 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs for the Lady Terrors with Ayla VanScoter going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Jessi Hall also tripled and scored twice.

Rhinehart got the win going five innings allowing one earned run on two hits, a hit batter, and a walk. She struck out 14.

                          

KANE 7, EISENHOWER 3

NORTH WARREN, Pa. – Leah Tigani used both her arm and her bat to lead visiting Kane past Eisenhower, 7-3.

Tigani gave up three runs, all earned, on three hits and four walks while striking out four in seven innings.

She also hit a home run while going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

Elizabeth Yasurek was also 3-for-4 with a double for the Lady Wolves with Lexi Mulcahy going 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Kylie Iak going 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

               

Payton Frank was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for Eisenhower but also took the loss.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 16, WARREN 0, 6 INNINGS

WARREN, Pa. – A 6-run fifth broke the game open, and Elk County Catholic tacked on eight more in the sixth to pick up a 16-0, 6-inning win at Warren.

The Crusaders held a 2-0 lead after four and scored twice early in the fifth. ECC staged a 2-out rally that added four more runs. The Crusaders batted around in the sixth and Sydney Alexander hit a 2-run home run to put an exclamation point on the inning.

Alexander had two hits, scored twice, and drove in four. Bailey Thorwart had three hits, including two doubles and a triple, scored three runs, and had two RBI. Lucy Klawuhn tripled and had four RBI. Emily Mourer tripled, while Mackenzie Bille, Alexa Uhl, and Reagan Bauer each had two hits.

Mourer gave up three hits, walked one, and struck out nine.

Alana Stuart, Malysia Sorensen, and Alexis Jones each had a hit for the Dragons.

Stuart allowed two unearned runs on four hits with a walk and seven strikeouts in four innings. Alexis Stec gave up 14 runs, seven earned, on 12 hits with four walks and two strikeouts in two innings.

            

PORT ALLEGANY 13, CAMERON COUNTY 4

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Maddy Errick had a pair of RBIs and Brynn Evens, Alayna McKervey, and Alyssa Tanner each had two hits to lead Port Allegany to a 13-4 win at Cameron County.

Errick was 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored, Evens was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and a run scored, McKervey was 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and four runs scored, and Tanner was 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.

Tanner got the win going seven innings allowing four earned runs on five hits and 12 walks while striking out nine.

Sabrina Hoffower was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI for Cameron County.

Caitlyn Palumbo took the loss going seven innings allowing 13 runs, five earned, on nine hits, a hit batter, and seven walks. She struck out nine.

CLEARFIELD 14, JOHNSTOWN 0, 5 INNINGS

HYDE, Pa. – Haley Billotte drove in four runs while going 1-for-1 with a double to lead Clearfield to a 14-0, five-inning win over visiting Johnstown.

Alexus Green also drove in two runs while going 1-for-3 with a run scored for the Lady Bison while Aevril Hayward was 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored.

Ruby Singleton also scored three times in the win while going 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk, and an RBI.

Megan Wisor got the win going five innings of two-hit ball. She walked a batter, hit a batter, and struck out nine.

NEW CASTLE 9, MONITEAU 7

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – A late Moniteau rally came up short in a 9-7 loss at New Castle.

The Lady Warriors scored six times in the top of the seventh and had the tying run at the plate before New Castle was able to close out the victory.

Addy Williams hit a three-run home run in the seventh for Moniteau and was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and three RBIs.

Ashley Huffman added a 1-for-4 day for the Lady Warriors with a run scored and an RBI, and Alex Stewart was 1-for-4 with a double and an RI. Lexi McGhree also went 1-for-1 with a run scored and an RBI.

Graysen Rottman took the loss going 4 ⅔ innings allowing five runs, three earned, on five hits, two walks, and a hit batter. She struck out two.

Olivia Hood was 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored for New Castle while Keara Mangieri and Aycealea Rose each drove in two runs.

Hood got the win going seven innings allowing seven runs, two earned, on five hits, three walks, and two hit batters. She struck out nine.
