Base: Peters HR; Irwin, Peters Pitching Lift North Clarion to 1-0 Win over Keystone; Brookville Edges DuBois, Bradford One-Run Win over OV powered by N. Washington Rodeo

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – Drake Irwin and Wade Peters combined to throw a two-hit shutout as North Clarion beat visiting Keystone, 1-0.

Irwin got the win going six innings allowing two hits, four walks, and two hit batters in six innings of work while striking out eight.

Peters got the save going one inning striking out two.

Peters accounted for the lone run of the game, a solo home run in the second inning.

                  

Noah Weckerly took the loss despite throwing a gem. He allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out nine.

BROOKVILLE 7, DUBOIS 4, 6 INNINGS

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Sergio Sotillo drove in four runs to help Brookville beat visiting DuBois, 7-4, in six innings.

Sotillo was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Ladd Blake added a pair of RBIs while going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, and Jake Pete went 1-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.

                          

Easton Belfiore got the win going four innings allowing four runs, two earned, on eight hits while striking out two.

Sam Krug got the save going three innings allowing an earned run on four hits and four walks while striking out two.

Hunter Allman drove in two runs for DuBois going 1-for-2, while Danny Dixon and Noah Farrell each had two hits. Dixon was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI and Farrell was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Allman took the loss going three-plus innings allowing five runs, four earned, on seven hits and a hit batter while striking out one.

BRADFORD 7, OSWAYO VALLEY 6

               

BRADFORD, Pa. – Scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth, Bradford broke a five-all tie on its way to a 7-6 win over Oswayo Valley.

Brody Haviland’s RBI single broke the tie, and a groundout by Evan Whitmore added what turned out to be a much-needed insurance run.

Liam Haven and Wyatt Stark each drove in two runs for the Owls with Haven going 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored and Stark going 1-for-2 with a double.

Whitmore also added a pair of RBIs.

Haviland got the win in relief going 4 ⅓ innings. He didn’t allow a hit and was charged with an unearned run. He walked one and struck out eight.

Luke Karr was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Oswayo Valley with Brayden Wiley going 2-for-4 with a run scored and Drayden Norton going 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Ethan Hackman took the loss going two innings allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits while striking out one.

CLARION 4, OIL CITY 1, 5 INNINGS (RAIN)

PAINT TWP. Pa. – In a game called after the top of the fifth because of rain, Clarion beat Oil City, 4-1.

            

Daunte Girvan got the win going four innings allowing one earned run on two hits and a walk while striking out five.

Dawson Smail picked up the save going a scoreless inning allowing a walk while striking out two.

Derek Smail hit a monster home run for the Bobcats and was 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.

Tanner Miller added a double while going 1-for-2 with a run scored, and Dawson Smail was 1-for-1 with a walk and two runs scored.

Zach Love took the loss going four innings allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits and a walk while striking out two.

Conner Lockhart was 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Oilers with Jacob Teeter going 1-for-2 with a run scored.

CURWENSVILLE 5, PURCHASE LINE 2

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Breaking a two-all tie with three runs in the bottom of the fifth, Curwensville picked up a key to its playoff hopes, 5-2, win over Purchase Line.

Purchase Line had tied the game with a run in the top of the fifth before a two-run Andrew Pentz double broke the tie and Logan Kunkle followed with an RBI double.

That accounted for two of Curwensville’s three hits in the game.

Pentz got the win in relief of Gavin McDermott going 2 ⅓ innings of hitless baseball. He struck out four and walked two.

McDermott went 4 ⅔ innings allowing two runs, one earned, on a hit, four walks, and three hit batters. He struck out nine.

Devlan Kordish took the loss going five innings allowing five runs, three earned, on three hits, a hit batter, and three walks while striking out five.

CLEARFIELD 10, JOHNSTOWN 0, 5 INNINGS

HYDE, Pa. – Hunter Rumsky tossed a three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts to lead Clearfield to a 10-0, five-inning win over visiting Johnstown.

Runsky walked one while throwing 50 of his 69 pitches for strikes.

Anthony Lopez drove in three runs for the Bison going 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Cole Bloom and Christian Welker each added a pair of RBIs with Bloom going 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored and Welker going 1-for-3 with a walk.

Derrick Mikesell was also 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and Elijah Quick was 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored.

MONITEAU 13, NEW CASTLE 1, 6 INNINGS

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Keagon Book had four hits and Ian Ross drove in three runs to lift Moniteau to a 13-1, six-inning victory at New Castle.

Book was 4-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored with Ross going 3-for-5 with a run scored.

Beau Stewart also added a pair of RBIs for the Warriors going 2-for-2 with two walks, and Landon Kelly scored three times while going 2-for-3 with a walk.

Connor Ealy got the win in relief of Dawson Cook going four innings allowing one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out two. Cook pitched two innings allowing a hit and a walk while striking out four.

BOLIVAR-RICHBURG 2, CAMERON COUNTY 1

BOLIVAR, N.Y. – Bolivar-Richburg pushed across a run in the bottom of the sixth to beat Cameron County, 2-1.

It was an RBI single by Kingston Loucks that gave the one-loss Wolverines the win.

Caden Allen got the win going six innings allowing an unearned run on seven hits, a walk, and a hit batter. He struck out two.

Trey Buccholz picked up the save going one inning striking out the side.

Treyton Tucker pitched well in the loss for Cameron County going six innings allowing two earned runs on eight hits, a walk, and two hit batters. He struck out one.

Maddox Baughman was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Red Raiders while Lathan Reed went 2-for-3.

TYRONE 12, PUNXSUTAWNEY 3

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Scoring eight of its runs in the final two innings, visiting Tyrone pulled away to hand Punxsutawney its second loss of the season, 12-3, while breaking the Chucks’ seven-game win streak.

The Eagles led 4-3 going to the sixth but scored five times off relief pitcher Coy Martino in the sixth before adding three unearned runs off Donnie Bender in the seventh.

Landon Hamer was 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored, and two RBIs for Tyrone while Ryan Light went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI.

Logan Seeger got the win in relief going 3 ⅔ scoreless innings allowing five hits and a walk while striking out one.

Maddox Hetrick was 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored for Punxsutawney with Martino going 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Parker Stahlman was also 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs

Nevin Day took the loss going five innings allowing four runs, one earned, on nine hits while striking out three.

Martino went one innings allowing five earned runs on four hits, two walks, and a hit batter.

Bender went one inning allowing the three unearned runs on two hits and a hit batter.
