Soft: Franklin Outlasts Titusville; Prep, Conneaut, Meadville Pick Up Wins Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Franklin scored 11 runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings and held off a late Titusville rally in a 12-11 win.

Franklin led 12-7 going to the bottom of the seventh. Titusville scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh before the Lady Knights secured the win.

Leaha Rial was 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs for Franklin, while Alysa Rial was 3-for-5 with two RBIs, Jillian Ewing 4-for-5 with an RBI and Autumn Fitzgerald 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs.

Jersey Swartz got the win, allowing 11 runs (four earned) in seven innings, scattering 13 hits and striking out six.

Kasey Krepps, Mahalia Campbell and Kyra Atkins drove in two runs each for Titusville.

                  

CATHTEDRAL PREP 18, GENERAL MCLANE 1, 3 innings

EDINBORO, Pa. – Madison Simmerman and Emalie Thomas each homered as Cathedral Prep beat General McLane 18-1 in three innings.

Prep scored 10 runs in the first inning, as Simmerman and Mya Kaliszewski drove in three runs each.

Paige Simmerman was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Ramblers, while Camryn Chimera had two hits and an RBI and Morgan Madura two hits and two RBIs.

Madura got the win, allowing one run on two hits in three innings, striking out five.

                          

CONNEAUT 11, WARREN 0, 5 innings

WARREN, Pa. – A 7-run third inning lifted Conneaut to an 11-0, 5-inning win at Warren.

The Eagles, winners of three straight after an 0-6 start to the season, led 3-0 after two innings. A double, single, and a walk loaded the bases. Emily Vennare grounded into a fielder’s choice to bring in the first run of the inning. BreAnn Dendis followed with a sac fly to make it 5-0.

A hit batter and a walk reloaded the bases and Hailey Gilliland roped a 2-run single to center. Another hit batter loaded the bases for a third time and Kylie Shrock followed with an RBI single. Consecutive walks brought in the seventh run to put the Eagles ahead 10-0.

Lainie Harrington closed out the scoring with a solo home run in the fifth.

Warren drew a leadoff walk in four of the five innings but was unable to bring the runner home.

Gilliland had three hits and three RBI. Shrock had two hits, including a double, and two RBI.

Shrock got the win giving up two hits with four walks and five strikeouts in five innings.

Emma Gray and Lillian Devore each had a hit for the Dragons.

Devore took the loss allowing eight earned runs on five hits with five walks in 2 ⅔ innings. Malysia Sorenson allowed two earned runs on two hits with two walks in ⅓ inning. Alana Stuart allowed one earned run on one hit with six strikeouts in two innings.

MEADVILLE 15, ERIE 0, 5 innings

            

ERIE, Pa. – Teagan Reichel had two hits and drove in four runs as Meadville beat Erie, 15-0 in five innings.

Meadville scored eight runs in the fifth inning on its way to the win, as Kendall Mealy, Nevaeh Baker and Addyson Kregel drove in two runs each.

Lila Kightlinger fired a 1-hitter in the win, striking out nine and walking two.

NORTH EAST 15, GIRARD 5, 6 innings

NORTH EAST, Pa. – North East scored nine runs in the first inning in a 15-5, 6-inning win over Girard.

Alaina Rodemoyer and Alexa Lutz drove in two runs each for North East, which took advantage of 11 Girard errors.

Julianna Coletta was 2-for-5 with two runs scored as well for North East.

Sydney Wittman got the win, allowing five runs (two earned) in six innings, scattering seven hits and striking out 12.

Cate Bennett was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Girard.

SHARON 8, GROVE CITY 0

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Lacey Root belted a 2-run home run as Sharon beat Grove City, 8-0.

Mya Bundrant had three hits, including a double and two RBIs, while Mary Claire Brown had two hits and two RBIs, Claire Bodien a single and an RBI and Kurtasia Chester and Maddy Vogan one hit each.

Bundrant picked up her first varsity win, allowing three hits in four innings, striking out five and walking one. Bodien also pitched three shutout innings, allowing one hit and striking out two.

Kara Kirk took the loss, allowing six runs (two earned) in five innings, allowing eight hits, striking out three and walking two.

HARBOR CREEK 21, NORTHWESTERN 12

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Leading 13-12, Harbor Creek scored eight runs in the sixth inning to pull away for a 21-12 win over Northwestern.

Talon King was 2-for-5 with four RBIs for Harbor Creek, while Rylee Vogt was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, AB Cipalla 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Brooklynn Cipalla 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI and Hannah Smith 3-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs.

Addison Lucas got the win, allowing eight earned runs in seven innings on five hits, striking out five.

Zoey Johnson drove in three runs for Northwestern.
