Siple Strikes out 17 to Lift Curwensville to Victory; Coudersport, Port Allegany Walk Their Way to Victory

HOUTZDALE, Pa. – Addison Siple struck out 17 while throwing a three-hit shutout, as visiting Curwensville beat Moshannon Valley, 9-0.

Siple walked two.

Ava Hainsey and Sydney Simcox each drove in two runs for the Lady Tide with Hainsey going 2-for-4 with a run scored while Simcox was 1-for-4.

Addison Butler was also 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and three runs scored for Curwensville

   

                  

COUDERSPORT 21, GALETON 19

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – In a football-like scoring fest, Coudersport held off visiting Galeton, 21-19 in a game that featured 31 total hit batters/walks.

Galeton, which walked 10 and hit four, took a 5-0 lead in the top of the first before the Lady Falcons, who walked 17 and hit three, answered with five in the bottom of the inning.

The Lady Tigers then went up 7-5 with two runs in the top of the second, but Coudersport scored four in the bottom of the inning to go ahead, 9-7.

Galeton tied the game with two in the third before the Lady Falcons took the lead for good, 10-9, with a run in the bottom of that inning.

                          

A seven-run fourth then pushed the Coudersport lead to 17-9, but Galeton scored three in the fifth to make it 17-12.

The Lady Falcons answered with two in the bottom of the fifth and then the teams exchanged a pair of runs each in the sixth to put Coudersport ahead 21-14.

Galeton, though, scored five in the seventh and had the bases loaded with two outs when Madyson Dubots-Angood got Makenna Schott to ground back to the circle to end the game.

Laura Dunn had the lone extra-base hit for Coudersport going 4-for-5 with a double, three runs scored, and four RBIs.

               

Ciarra Davis also drove in two runs for the Lady Falcons going 3-for-4 with two walks and four runs scored.

Dubots-Angood was 1-for-4 with two walks and three runs scored, and Alexis Sanderson was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.

Freshman Brielle Lehman went 6-for-6 with a double, four runs scored, and four RBIs for Galeton, while Eve Cole drove in three runs, and Audrianna Calderon was 3-fo-5 with a walk and two RBIs.

DuBots-Angood got the win going seven innings allowing 14 runs, 12 earned, on 17 hits, 13 walks, and two hit batters while striking out nine in relief of Hannah Fleniken who gave up five earned runs on two hits, four walks, and a hit batter without recording an out.

Macey Crowell took the loss for Galeton going three innings allowing 10 runs, seven earned, on seven hits, four walks, and two hit batters while striking out five. Schott gave up 11 runs, nine earned, on seven hits, six walks, and two hit batters in three innings of work while striking out six.

PORT ALLEGANY 17, OSWAYO VALLEY 15

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – In another football-like outing, Port Allegany scored 11 times in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally past Oswayo Valley, 17-15.

The Lady Gators trailed the visiting Green Wave 13-6 going to the bottom of the sixth but sent 16 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs without the benefit of a hit.

Port Allegany walked its way to the victory walking 13 times in the inning including 12 in a row.

That helped the Lady Gators score 17 runs despite getting just two hits. They walked 21 times.

            

Oswayo Valley scored its 15 runs on just six hits but also walked 13 times while getting hit by a pitch as well.

Gianna Glasgow drove in four runs for Port Allegany going 1-for-3 with two walks and a run scored while Mary Dibble drove in two runs walking twice and scoring twice.

Brynn Evens and Alayna McKervey each added three runs scored for the Lady Gators.

Eba West was 1-for-4 with a triple, a walk, two runs scored, and three RBIs, while MaKenna Manning was 1-for-5 with a run scored and three RBIs for Oswayo Valley.

Alyssa Tanner got the win going seven innings allowing 15 runs, 10 earned, on six hits, 13 walks, and a hit batter while striking out nine.

Shayden Mesler took the loss going six innings allowing 13 runs, nine earned, on two hits and 17 walks while striking out seven. West walked four and allowed four earned runs while not recording an out.

ST. MARYS 10, PUNXSUTAWNEY 2

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Molly Hanslovan hit a home run leading off the game to set the tone for a 10-2 St. Marys’s win at Punxsutawney.

Hanslovan ended up going 1-for-4 with a walk and four runs scored for the Lady Dutch, while Addison Beimel was 4-for-4 with a double, walk, a run scored, and an RBI.

Jianna Gerg and Kelsie Fledderman each added a pair of hits in the win with one of Gerg’s being a double, and Sidney Reider went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, three runs scored, and three RBIs.

Brynn Hergert was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for Punxsutawney.

Avery Eckles got the win going seven innings allowing two runs, one earned, on six hits and four walks while striking out four.

Brinley Hallman took the loss going 6 1/3 innings allowing eight earned runs on 12 hits and four walks while striking out four.

BELLEFONTE 17, CLEARFIELD 3

HYDE, Pa. -Building a 7-1 lead after four innings, visiting Bellefonte cruised past Clearfield, 17-3.

Jaylee Lose was 3-for-5 with two doubles, a walk, three RBIs, and a run scored for Bellefonte while Grace Novitsky hit a home run while going 2-for-5 with a walk, two RBIs, and four runs scored. Madison Ripka was also 3-for-6 with a double and two runs scored, and Maria Cotter went 2-for-6 with a double, a triple, three runs scored, and two RBIs.

Ruby Singleton was 3-for-4 with a double and a home run for Clearfield. She scored twice and drove in a run.

Carley Clarkson got the win going five innings allowing two unearned runs on four hits while striking out two.

Megan Wisor took the loss going three innings allowing 10 runs, five earned, on 10 hits and four walks.

FREEPORT 7, KARNS CITY 2

FREEPORT, Pa. – Abigail DeJidas and Reese Selker each drove in three runs and hit a combined three home runs to lead Freeport past visiting Karns City, 7-2.

DeJidas was 3-for-4 with a double and a home run while scoring three times, while Selker was 2-for-4 with two home runs and two runs scored.

Selker got the win going seven innings allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits and six walks while striking out 17.

Jess Rodgers had an RBI for Karns City while Aubrey Taylor and Nicole Taylor each had a hit for the Lady Gremlins with Nicole Taylor adding a run scored.

Addison Burrows took the loss going three innings allowing five earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four. Ronni Radaker also pitched three innings for Karns City allowing two earned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out four.
