Sept. 24, 2020 Cross Country/Tennis Recaps: North Clarion sweeps

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – The North Clarion boys (21-38) and girls (15-48) were both victorious over Union/A-C Valley on Thursday.

The boys were led by Kaine McFarland’s first-place finish (19:06), followed by Aiden Thomas.

The North Clarion girls swept the top five spots, led by Rachel Bauer (22:07).

OIL CITY TOPS KENNEDY CATHOLIC

OIL CITY, Pa. – Emily Russell and Kayla DeShazo earned victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles to help Oil City to a 4-1 win over Kennedy Catholic.

Russell wont 6-0, 6-3 and DeShazo 6-3, 6-1, while Kennedy Catholic’s Lydia Grove topped OC’s Payton Bunk at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

The No. 1 Oil City doubles team of Emily Bly and Cassidy Sutley won 6-4, 6-1, and No. 2 was a forfeit win for the Oilers.

VILLA 5, FAIRVIEW 0

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Tara Thomas, Ryleigh Valone and Anna Poranski all won their singles matches as Villa swept Fairview.

The doubles teams of Abby Consiglio/Annie Prichard and Mary McGovern/Grace Teed were also victorious.
