Prep Girls Top Rival McDowell; Warren Stays Hot; Yanc Has Big Game For Cambridge Springs

ERIE, Pa. – Jayden McBride scored 17 points as Cathedral Prep earned a 57-43 win over rival McDowell.

With the win, the Ramblers swept the season series.

Addie Biel was also in double figures for the Ramblers with 10 points.

Caylen Spano had 16 points for McDowell, while Amaiyah Nelson added nine.

WARREN 65, OIL CITY 23

                                      

OIL CITY, Pa. – Warren won its sixth consecutive game with a 65-23 win over Oil City.

The Lady Dragons (13-6), who built a 19-4 lead after the first quarter, have won 11 of 13, all by double figures.

They also earned a regular season sweep of the Oilers in the process

Ten different players made their way into the scoring column for Warren, with Sammie Ruhlman and Meea Irwin leading the way with 13 points each, while Halle Kuzminski was also in double figures with 11.

Gracie Ruhlman and Emily Foster had seven points each for Warren. Kuzminski had seven rebounds, Sammie Ruhlman seven assists, and Alana Stuart four steals.

                          

Payton Liederbach led Oil City with eight points, while Emma Stahl added seven.

Warren also won the JV game, 44-35. Irwin had 11 points, while Peyton Wotorson and Foster had 10 each.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 56, YOUNGSVILLE 12

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Makenzie Yanc filled up the stat sheet as Cambridge Springs rolled to a 56-12 win over Youngsville.

Yanc poured in 23 points and also had nine rebounds, seven assists, and seven steals in the win for the Blue Devils.

Hailee Rodgers had 14 points for Cambridge Springs, while Finley Rauscher had five points, seven assists, and four steals.

Riley Robinault had five points for Youngsville.

WILMINGTON 46, GROVE CITY 40

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Wilmington rallied from an early deficit to earn a 46-40 win over Grove City.

Lia Krarup scored 19 points for Wilmington, which erased a 16-8 deficit after the first quarter to take a 21-20 halftime advantage.

                                   

Reese Bruckner, Kayah Brewer, and Maelee Whitling had six points each for Wilmington.

Piper Como had 19 points for Grove City, while Delaney Callahan had 12.

EISENHOWER 64, GIRARD 26

RUSSELL, Pa. – Eisenhower senior Bella Marino returned from a 4-game absence to help lead Eisenhower to a 64-26 Region 3 win over Girard.

Marino, who missed the previous four games due to injury, had a game-high 14 points for the Knights.

“It felt pretty good to win this one,” Marino said. “It was a little difficult (coming back from injury), and I struggled at times. But I think I played good, I think we all played good.”

The Knights led 20-4 at the end of the first quarter and extended the lead to 37-16 at halftime. Eisenhower’s defense limited Girard to single digits in three of the four quarters.

Lainey Font had 12 points in the win, Clara Steinberg had 11, and Mackenzie Dunn added nine.

Peyton Kalicky led the Jackets with 11 points, while Lily Polk had eight.f

MAPLEWOOD 57, ROCKY GROVE 12

GUYS MILLS, Pa. – Maplewood scored 41 points in the first half in a 57-12 win over Rocky Grove.

Sadie Thomas had 16 points in the win for Maplewood, while Maddie Eimer had 11 and Maggie Means eight.

Rae Montgomery and Emily Rice had four points each for Rocky Grove.

                                  

CONNEAUT 46, FRANKLIN 34

LINESVILLE, Pa. – Lainie Harrington had 17 points and eight rebounds as Conneaut beat Franklin, 46-34.

Jacqui Detelich was also in double figures for Conneaut with 12 points.

Estella Adams had 16 points for Franklin, including 9-of-9 from the free-throw line.

SHARPSVILLE 59, COCHRANTON 39

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. – Chasie Fry led three Sharpsville players in double figures with 15 points in a 59-39 non-region win over Cochranton.

Tori Kimpan had 11 points, nine rebounds, and five blocks for the Blue Devils, while Lily Palko had 11 points, and Breanna Hanley had nine points and eight boards.

Eve Pfeiffer had 10 points for Cochranton.

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 49, LAKEVIEW 17

STONEBORO, Pa. – Kennedy Catholic outscored Lakeview 21-0 in the fourth quarter en route to a 49-17 victory.

Layke Fields and Isabella Bianco had 15 points each for the Golden Eagles, while Bella Magestro added 10 and Monique Vincent eight.

Alaina Peltonen had six points for Lakeview.

UNION CITY 36, SAEGERTOWN 28

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Jessica Messenger, Cathryn Reynolds, and Brooke VanTassel scored eight points each to lead Union City to a 36-28 win over Saegertown.

Union City outscored Saegertown 16-7 in the first quarter en route to the win.

Hailee Gregor and Lindsey Greco had 10 points each for Saegertown.

FARRELL 51, COMMODORE PERRY 11

HADLEY, Pa.- Ja’Niya Daniels poured in 22 points to lead Farrell to a 51-11 win over Commodore Perry.

Gabby King added 15 points and Damerra Thomas 11 for Farrell.

Five different Commodore Perry players had two points each.

GREENVILLE 53, HICKORY 35

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Grace Cano led a balanced effort with 15 points as Greenville earned a 53-35 win over Hickory.

Josie Lewis and Preslie Kirilla were also in double figures for Greenville with 11 points apiece, while Reese Schaller added nine.

Kimora Roberts led Hickory with eight points.

WEST MIDDLESEX 50, REYNOLDS 16

TRANSFER, Pa. – Caitlin Stephens poured in 29 points as West Middlesex topped Reynolds, 50-16.

West Middlesex built a 26-7 halftime lead on its way to the win.

Emma Mild added nine points for the Big Reds.

Ava Murcko led Reynolds with nine points.

SLIPPERY ROCK 44, SHARON 30

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.- Julia Coffaro scored 19 points as Slippery Rock topped Sharon, 44-30.

Madison Romanovich and Libby Campbell had eight points apiece in the win for the Rockets.

Daryonna Nixon had eight points for Sharon.

MERCER 55, JAMESTOWN 21

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – McKenna McCandless had 12 points to lead a balanced Mercer effort in a 55-21 win over Jamestown.

Mercer built a 37-14 halftime lead en route to the win.

Zoey Seidel and Pressley Washil added nine points each for Mercer.

Alayna Cadman had 12 points for Jamestown.

MERCYHURST PREP 45, NORTHWESTERN 34

ALBION, Pa. – Olivia Kulyk scored 17 points as Mercyhurst Prep beat Northwestern, 45-34.

Lillirose Lang was also in double figures for Mercyhurst Prep with 14 points, while Mia Mangini added eight.

MaKayla Presser-Palmer and Chloe Yazembiak had 11 points each for Northwestern.

HARBOR CREEK 46, ERIE 39

ERIE, Pa. – Samantha Zank poured in 22 points to lead Harbor Creek to a 46-39 win over Erie.

Dreya Neavins had 14 points for Erie.

NORTH EAST 63, TITUSVILLE 14

NORTH EAST, Pa. – Gigi Gaston and Kayla Forsythe scored 12 points each as North East earned a 63-14 win over Titusville.

Bri Wynn had four points for Titusville.

CORRY 40, MEADVILLE 27

CORRY, Pa. – Tayler Elchynski had 10 points as Corry topped Meadville, 40-27.

Kaycee Porter and Lindsey Hasbrouck had nine points each for the Beavers.

Marlaya McCoy led Meadville with 12 points.
