Plyler Nets Seven Goals in Brookville Boys’ Win; LeBoeuf, Karns City, Prep Girls Win Showdowns (Sept. 14 Soccer Recaps)

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Steven Plyler had a monster game with seven goals as Brookville beat Punxsutawney, 13-0.

The seven goals in one game are a team record.

Declan Reitz had a pair of goals for the Raiders, while Daniel Turner, Isaac Retiz, Luke McKinley and Caleb Kornbau had one each.

Bradley Fiscus had six assists for the Raiders, while Plyler and Isaac Reitz had two each.

GROVE CITY 6, GREENVILLE 2

            

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Jimmy Irani scored a pair of goals, including one on a penalty kick to help Grove City to a 6-2 win over Greenville.

Caleb Baumgartner, Sam Myford, Landon Ferguson and Ben Donnelly also found the back of the net for Grove City.

FORT LEBOEUF 1, GENERAL MCLANE 0

EDINBORO, Pa. – Emily Samluk’s second-half goal lifted Fort LeBouef to a 1-0 win over General McLane.

                          

Jenna Popowski had the assist for Fort LeBoeuf.

Gabby Green had the clean sheet in net.

KARNS CITY 2, DUBOIS 1, double overtime

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Hanna Dailey’s goal in the second overtime lifted Karns City to a 2-1 win over DuBois.

Dailey’s goal was assisted by Sarah Dodd.

Phoebe Brandon had the other goal for the Gremlins.

WARREN 5, MEADVILLE 0

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Leyna Irwin and Lucy Bigelow had two goals each to power Warren past Meadville, 5-0.

Meea Irwin had the other goal for the Dragons.

Marielle Stanz and Eliza Brook had two assists each.

                        

KEYSTONE 2, FOREST AREA 0

KNOX, Pa. – Jill Winters had a pair of goals to help Keystone to a 2-0 win over Forest Area.

Jerzey Bell had an assist and also had nine saves in net for Keystone.

Brooke Steinman had five saves for Forest.

CATHEDRAL PREP 2, FAIRVIEW 1

         

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Olivia Dixon scored a goal in each half to help Cathedral Prep to a 2-1 win over Fairview.

Callie Cacchione had two assists for the Ramblers.

GROVE CITY 9, SHARON 0

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Victoria Badowski, Anna Slagle and Maddy Barr scored two goals each to help Grove City to a 9-0 win over Sharon.

Izzie Gamble, Kassie Mushrush and Sarah Gerber also found the back of the net for Grove City in the win.

MERCYHURST PREP 3, GIRARD 2

GIRARD, Pa. – Molly Taylor had a goal and an assist as Mercyhurst Prep edged Girard, 3-2.

Ella Schumacher and Audrey Zimmerman also scored for the Lakers.

Clarissa Lewis got the win in net.

ST. MARYS 10, KANE 1

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Rachelle Fritz, Lola Larkin and Lucy Hayes scored two goals each as St. Marys beat Kane, 10-1.

Adrianna Buck, Jenna Mazzaferro, Maria Radkowski and Gianna Surra also had one goal each for St. Marys.

Emily Stephan scored for Kane.

BROOKVILLE 3, PUNXSUTAWNEY 2

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Ally Wilson’s goal with 9:54 left in regulation broke a 2-2 tie and lifted Brookville to a 3-2 win over Punxsy.

Wilson’s goal came after Bella Gigliotti tied the game for Punxsy with 26:08 to go.

Lauren Castellan also scored on a penalty kick for Brookville, while Kaida Yoder opened the scoring for the Raiders.

Abreil Zanaglio had Punxsy’s other goal on an assist from Gigliotti.
