Pair of Steelers, Wildcats Named to PA Football Writers All-State in Class 2A

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – A pair of Farrell Steelers and Central Clarion Wildcats were voted to the Pennsylvania Football Writers’ Class 2A All-State football team, with a total of six players overall earning honors.

The selections for both Farrell and Central Clarion came at quarterback and linebacker, where Farrell’s Kabron Smith and Central Clarion’s Jase Ferguson were chosen, as well as the Steelers’ Marion Norris and Wildcats’ Braylon Beckwith.

Ferguson (the YDL Sports Network District 9 2023 MVP) accounted for 56 touchdowns – 46 passing and 10 rushing – and 3,566 total yards of offense.

Smith, meanwhile, threw for 2,142 yards and 27 touchdowns, finishing as Farrell’s career leader in passing yards.

They were joined on the team by Mercyhurst Prep offensive lineman Sean Sokolowski and Wilmington running back Ben Miller.

            

Southern Columbia’s Garrett Garcia was named Player of the Year and Westinghouse’s Donta Green Coach of the Year.
