Orr Walk-Off Sac Fly Gives Redbank Valley Softball Wild Win over Moniteau; Clearfield 10 Runs P-O

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bella Orr’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh scored Braylee Yeany, as Redbank Valley walked off Moniteau in wild fashion, 14-13.

The Lady Bulldogs, who trailed 7-2 after 4 ½ innings and 11-5 after 5 ½ frames scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 11 only to watch Moniteau score two in the top of the seventh to go back ahead, 13-11.

But in the bottom of the seventh, Josie Neiswonger singled with one out, and Alara Altobelli walked before Yeany reached on an error to load the bases.

Another error, this one on a ground ball hit by Mackenzie Foringer scored both Neiswonger and Altobelli to tie the game before Orr won it on a fly ball to center.

   

                  

Orr drove in four runs for the Lady Bulldogs going 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Quinn White added a pair of triples while going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored in the win with Paytin Polka going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Neiswonger going 2-for-3 with a run scored, Yeany going 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored, and Altobelli going 1-for-3 with a walk and four runs scored.

Emma Covert was 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, and three RBIs for Moniteau with Autumn Stewart going 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, three runs scored, and three RBIs.

Lily Staab also hit a home run, a solo shot leading off the seventh, while going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for the Lady Warriors while Emily Staabe was 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored, and Addy Williams was 1-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs.

Foringer got the win going seven innings allowing 13 runs, six earned, on 15 hits and a walk while striking out two.

                          

Covert took the loss going 6 ⅓ innings allowing 14 runs, eight earned, on 14 hits, two walks, and a hit batter while striking out four.

Mariska Shunk pitched a ⅓ of an inning.

CLEARFIELD 13, PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA 3, 5 INNINGS

HYDE, Pa. – Knocking out six extra-base hits among its 12 base knocks, Clearfield 10-runned visiting Philipsburg-Osceola, 13-3, in five innings.

               

Alaina Fedder had a home run and a double, Anna Twigg hit a home run, Faith Gardner had a triple, and Haley Billotte and Ruby Singleton each doubled for the Lady Bison.

Singleton was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBIs, Fedder was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and three RBIs, Gardner was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and Billotte was 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Anna Twigg also drove in a pair of Clearfield going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Payton Barnett was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for P-O while Abby Vaux went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Fedder got the win going five innings allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits and three walks while striking out five.

Daisy Waylany took the loss going 2 ⅔ innings allowing nine runs, four earned, on seven hits and a walk while striking out two.
