Chimera Hits Three-Run HR in Sixth to Lift Cathedral Prep Past McDowell; Hickory, Sharpsville Win

ERIE, Pa. – Camryn Chimera’s three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning lifted Cathedral Prep to a 5-4 win over McDowell at Mercyhurst University.

The Ramblers trailed 4-1 going to the sixth before Megan Kelly and Jenna Wagner drew back-to-back walks leading off the inning.

Emaile Thomas then put down a sac bunt that scored Kelly from second and sent Wagner to third before Emily Dudenhoeffer drew a walk and Chomera homered to center.

Chimera’s long ball was just the fourth hit off the game for Cathedral Prep who also had hits from Kelly, Dudenhoffer, and Addusib Baldi.

Dudenhoffer scored twice going 1-for-2 with a walk.

   

                  

Isabelle Nageli was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored for McDowell while Gracie Miller went 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Wagner got the win going seven innings allowing four earned runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out 11.

Gabriella Duluca took the loss pitching six innings allowing five runs, four earned, on four hits and five walks while striking out five.

HICKORY 8, OIL CITY 2

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Madison Reardon drove in a pair of runs and Hallie Miller and Kaelyn Fustos each had two hits to lift Hickory to an 8-2 win over visiting Oil City.

                          

Reardon was 1-for-2 with a triple and a run scored, Fustos went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored, and Miller was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Miller got the win going seven innings allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits and three walks while striking out nine.

Sophia Garmong had a double and an RBI for Oil City. She took the loss going four innings allowing six runs, four earned runs, on five hits, two walks, and a hit batter while striking out five.

SHARPSVILLE 21, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 0, 3 INNINGS

               

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. – Lily Palko hit a first-inning grand slam, as Sharpsville scored 14 first-inning runs on its way to a 21-0, three-inning home win over Kennedy Catholic.

Palko was 1-for-1 with a walk, two runs scored, and four RBIs.

Bella Ritenour and Jordan Breast each drove in a pair of runs as well for Sharpsville with Ritenour going 1-for-1 with a walk and two runs scored and Breast was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.

Dava Masters, the second of three Blue Devil pitchers, got the win going one inning striking out three while hitting a batter.

Breanna Hanley started and pitched an inning striking out two, and Breast one hitless inning walking one and striking out one.
