KARNS CITY 9, KEYSTONE 4

KNOX, Pa. – Scoring eight runs in the top of the fifth, Karns City overcame a 2-0 deficit to end Keystone’s nine-game winning streak with a 9-4 victory.

Single by Marra Patton and Megan Whitmire got the Lady Gremlins within a run, and Allison Walker’s two-run single gave Karns City the lead. Zoe King followed with an RBI double to make it 4-2, and Garrah Milochik hit a home run to make it 6-2. Singles by Ashley Fox and Kennedy McGinnis then completed the rally.

King was 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs, while Patton went 3-for-4 with a run scored to lead Karns City.

   

                  

Natalie Bowser hit her third home run in two days for Keystone and also had a double while going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs. Alexandria Johnston was also 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Walker got the win in relief going 1 ⅔ of an inning allowing two earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out one. Patton then came on and went 2 ⅓ innings scoreless allowing two hits. Whitmire started and lasted three innings allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits while striking out two.

Bowser took the loss going 4 ⅓ innings allowing four earned runs on five hits. Leah Exley pitched 2 ⅔ innings allowing five runs, all earned, on eight hits.

CLEARFIELD 5, DUBOIS 2

DUBOIS, Pa. – Clearfield scored three times in the top of the seventh to beat DuBois, 5-2.

                          

With the game tied at two going to the seventh, Ruby Singleton singled with one out. Lauren Ressler then doubled with two outs with Singleton scoring on an error. Olivia Bender then walked, and Alaina Fedder hit a two-run double.

That made a winner out of Emma Hipps, who was very efficient in her seven innings in the circle needing just 79 pitches, 68 strikes, to get the complete-game win. She allowed three hits and two earned runs while hitting a batter and striking out 10.

Allie Snyder matched Hipps through six innings and finished the game giving up five runs, four earned, on eight hits and four walks while striking out five.

Fedder paced the Clearfield offense going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs. Singleton was 3-for-4 with a run scored, and Alexis Benton went 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

               

Taylor Smith hit a home run for DuBois and was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

WILLIAMSPORT 3, ST. MARYS 2

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Isabelle Griswold’s single in the top of the eight scored Aubrianna Blair from third, as Williamsport rallied past St. Marys, 3-2.

The Lady Dutch led 2-1 going to the seventh, and Kendall Young struck out the first two batters in the inning before walking Layla Waldman. Nicole Benton then singled, and Myla Kelly singled to tie the game.

Griswold was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Olivia Eckles was 2-for-4 with a run scored for St. Marys with Young going 2-for-3.

Kendall McAnelly got the win going eight innings allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits and two walks while striking out five.

Young took the loss going eight innings allowing three runs, two earned, on eight hits and four walks while striking out 14.

FOREST AREA 16, SMETHPORT 1, 3 INNINGS

TIONESTA, Pa. – Emma McFarland went 2-for-3 with a triple, a home run, two runs scored, and four RBIs to lead Forest Area past visiting Smethport, 16-1, in three innings at West Forest.

            

Emily Aites added a 2-for-2 day with a triple, a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs for the Lady Fires, while Maggie Boehmne was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, Faith Dietrich was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs, Madison McFarland was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, nd Tori Brown was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Bailey Fitzsimmons was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Smethport.

Natalie Meyers got the win going three innings allowing a run on three hits and three walks while striking out three.

CLARION 19, BROOKVILLE 6, 5 INNINGS

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Noel Anthony, Jordan Best, Brenna Campbell, and Kylee Beers each had three hits in Clarion’s 19-6, five-inning win at Brookville.

Anthony was 3-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored, and an RBI, Best was 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs, and four runs scored, Campbel was 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBIs, and three runs scored, and Beers was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs.

Also for Clarion, Peyton Simko was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored, and Emily Troese was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Megrah Suhan was 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and three RBIs, while Torri MacKinney was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

Simko got the win going four innings allowing two unearned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out seven. Beers pitched an inning allowing four earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out two.

Audrey Sorek took the loss going 2 ⅔ innings allowing 12 runs, seven earned, on 12 hits, and a walk. Natasha Rush went 2 ⅓ innings allowing seven runs, two earned, and one walk.

GLENDALE 11, CURWENSVILLE 1, 6 INNINGS

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Kelly Kasaback went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored, and four RBIs to lead visiting Glendale to an 11-1, six innings.

Riley Best was also 1-for-4 with a triple, a run scored, and three runs scored, and Hannah Noel went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Joslynne Freyer was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Kyla Campbell got the win going six innings allowing one earned run on two hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out seven.

Freyer took the loss going six innings allowing 11 runs, 10 earned, on eight hits, seven walks, and two hit batters. She struck out five.
