CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 8, SAEGERTOWN 1

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Cambridge Springs scored six runs in the third inning and  Walker Cunningham Trent Wheeler combined on a 2-hitter in an 8-1 win over Saegertown. 

Cunningham was dominant, allowing just one hit in his five innings. He struck out 10 and didn’t issue a walk. Wheeler went two innings. He allowed one run on one hit and two walks while striking out three. 

   

                  

Brock Cunningham, Jaden Grubbs, Brady Jardina, Asa Henderson, and Nathan Held all drove in runs in the third. 

Brock Cunningham had a pair of hits to lead the Blue Devils. 

Henry Shaffer took the loss for Saegertown, but only one of his seven runs in his three innings was earned. 

FRANKLIN 2, NORTH EAST 1, 9 innings 

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Alex Wible RBI single in the ninth inning was the walk-off winner in Franklin’s 2-1 extra-inning win over North East. 

                          

It was a good, old-fashioned pitchers duel for much of the contest. 

Franklin’s Luke Guth was brilliant, allowing just two hits and one run in 7 ⅓ innings. He struck out 13 and walked two, throwing 67 of his 104 pitches for strikes. Zach Boland got the win in relief with 1 ⅔ scoreless innings. He struck out a pair. 

Aden Bulger started and went 5 ⅔ innings for North East. He allowed just two hits and three walks, striking out seven. 

Reid Courtwright took the loss, giving up the lone run in the ninth. He struck out four and walked three. 

               

Joey Hedglin dropped down a bunt to plate Franklin’s run in the second inning. North East answered when Bulger scored on a wild pitch in the fifth. 

WILMINGTON 11, LAKEVIEW 0, 5 innings

STONEBORO, Pa. – Wilmington scored 10 runs in the first three innings on its way to an 11-0 win over Lakeview. 

Jaret Boyer got the shutout win, allowing just three hits and three walks, striking out seven. 

Dylan Batley and Cole McCallister both homered in the third inning for Wilmington. 

Batley was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Garrett Heller was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Dom Serfaino 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
