Kemmer, C-L Shut Down ECC; Kane Tops Bradford; Karns City Gets a Victory

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Kohen Kemmer threw six strong innings to lead Clarion-Limestone to a 5-1 win over Elk County Catholic at Berwind Park in St. Marys.

Kemmer allowed one earned run on seven hits and three walks while striking out one. Logan Lutz struck out the side in the seventh.

Tommy Smith and Aidan Coulson each drove in two runs for the Lions with Smith going 2-for-3 with a run scored and Coulson going 1-for-2.

Jake Smith was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

   

                  

David Anderson was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and an RBI for ECC, while Shawn Geci was 2-for-3.

Joe Tettis took the loss going six innings allowing four earned runs on seven hits, two walks, and a hit batter while striking out eight.

KANE 5, BRADFORD 1

MT. JEWETT, Pa. – Lucas Burns drove in a pair of runs to lead Kane to a 5-1 win over visiting Bradford.

Burns was 2-for-3 with a walk.

                          

Isaya Miller was 4-for-4 with a double in the win, while Luke Ely was 2-for-2 with two walks and a run scored.

Chase Gray and Aiden Willard each had hits for Bradford while Wyatt Stark scored the run for the Owls.

Elijah Everett got the win going seven innings allowing an unearned run on two hits, a walk, and two hit batters while striking out 10.

Evan Whitmore took the loss going six innings allowing five runs, four earned, on 12 hits, five walks, and a hit batter while striking out three.

               

KARNS CITY 6, BROCKWAY 2

BUTLER, Pa. – Jacob Jones was 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored, and two RBIs to lead Karns City past Brockway, 6-2, at Michelle Krill Memorial Field at Historic Pullman Park in Butler.

Hobie Bartoe also tripled for the Gremlins going 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Braden Grossman was 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs.

Matthew Brubaker had an RBI for Brockway while Dylan Bash and Ezra Swanson scored runs for the Rovers.

Mason Sherwin got within an out of a complete game for Karns City before running out of pitches. He went 6 ⅔ innings allowing two unearned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five. Jones got the win out on a three-pitch strikeout.

Ezra Swanson took the loss going 5 ⅓ innings allowing six runs, four earned, on nine hits and two walks while striking out two.

CLARION 8, NORTH CLARION 2

PAINT TWP., Pa. – Tanner Miller drove in three runs to help Clarion to an 8-2 win over North Clarion at the Clarion County Park.

Miller was 1-for-3.

Devon Lauer and Dawson Smail both tripled for the Bobcats with Lauer going 2-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored and Smail going 1-for-4 with a run scored.

            

Wade Peters was 2-for-3 with an RBI for North Clarion, while Zeelan Hargenrader went 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.

Matt Alston got the win going five innings allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits while striking out five. Dawson Smail went two innings allowing two hits and striking out one.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 8, CLEARFIELD 3

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Jake Sikora hit a home run and went five strong innings on the mound to lift Punxsutawney to an 8-3 win over Clearfield at Kuntz Field in Punxsutawney.

Sikora went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs while also allowing two earned runs on five hits, a walk, and three hit batters. He struck out five.

Carter Savage added three RBIs in the win going 1-for-4, while Justin Miller was 2-for-2 and Zeke Bennett went 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored.

Nevin Day, who scored two runs, also pitched two innings allowing an unearned run on a hit while striking out three.

Morgen Billotte went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and RBI, while Anthony Lopez was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Christian Walker took the loss going three innings allowing seven runs, six earned, on six hits and four walks while striking out one.

COUDERSPORT 19, SMETHPORT 6

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Gavyn Ayers had three RBIs in Coudersport’s 19-6 win at Smethport.

Ayers went 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored.

Dylan Howard scored five runs despite not having a hit. He walked three times and was also hit by a pitch while adding an RBI.

Mitch Taylor, Avery Taylor, and Wyatt Daisley each added two RBIs for the Falcons.

Daisley was 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored.

Mason Roessner was also 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in the win with Jacob Hooftallen going 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Dominic Ritts was 1-for-1 with a walk and an RBI for Smethport.

Mitch Taylor got the win in relief of Howard going 5 ⅓ innings allowing three unearned runs on two hits, six walks, and a hit batter while striking out six. Howard went a ⅓ of an inning allowing three earned runs on a hit and three walks while striking out one. Ayers pitched 1 ⅓ innings scoreless striking out four on 13 pitches.

Brentton McDowell took the loss going 1 ⅔ innings allowing six runs, three earned, on three hits and a walk while striking out three.

CRANBERRY 6, KEYSTONE 0

KNOX, Pa. – Austin Shoup threw a three-hit shutout to lead Cranberry to a 6-0 win at Keystone.

Shoup walked two and hit one while striking out 13.

Cole Findlay was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Seth Deloe was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, and Shoup helped himself by going 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Travis Carbaugh was also 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Brendan Flebotte was 1-for-3 with a double for Keystone.

Cole Henry took the loss going seven innings allowing six runs, three earned, on 10 hits, a walk, and a hit batter while striking out two.

CURWENSVILLE 10, MOSHANNON VALLEY 5

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Christian Fegert went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs to lead Curwensville to a 10-5 win over visiting Moshannon Valley.

Cael Butler added three RBIs in the victory while walking twice, and Logan Kunkle, Ayden Sutika, and Merek Sutika each had two hits.

Kunkle was 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI, Ayden Sutika was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and Merek Sutika was 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Kunkle got the win going four innings allowing five earned runs on four hits and five walks while striking out one. Ayden Sutika picked up the save going three scoreless, hitless innings striking out one.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 8, PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA 5

PHILIPSBURG, Pa. – DuBois Central Catholic closed out the regular season on fire winning for the 16th time in 17 games with an 8-5 victory over Philipsburg-Osceola.

The Cardinals, who started the season 0-3 but are now 16-4, broke a four-all tie with two runs in the fifth and then added two more in the seventh.

Aiden Snowberger went 3-for-5 with three doubles, a run scored, and five RBIs.

Matt Pyne was 3-for-4 with two runs scored in the victory with Brayden Fox going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Carter Himes was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.

Alex Knepp was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for P-O.

Fox got the win in relief of Andrew Green. He went two scoreless innings allowing a hit and a walk while striking out two. Carter Hickman got the save going two innings allowing a walk and a strikeout.

Green went two innings allowing four earned runs on four hits and three walks. Carter Himes pitched an inning allowing two hits and an unearned runs while striking out one.

YOUNGSVILLE SWEEPS FOREST AREA

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Youngsville needed just eight innings to complete a doubleheader sweep of Forest Area, winning 14-3 in five innings in Game 1 and 17-0 in three innings in Game 2.

The Eagles scored eight runs in the fourth inning of the first game, as Matt DeSimone went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBI, and two runs.

Also for the Eagles, Ethan Senz was 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, Kegan Mesel was 1-for-4 with two RBIs, Alex Patch was 1-for-2 with three RBIs and Nate Leamon was 1-for-1 with two RBIs and two runs.

Wyatt Dalrymple got the win, allowing three runs in five innings on four hits, striking out nine, and walking one.

Colton Kuntz tripled for Forest Area, while Zach Carll was 1-for-3 with three RBIs.

Kuntz took the loss, allowing six runs (three earned) in three innings on four hits, striking out two and walking five.

In Game 2, James Johnson had a three-inning no-hitter for Youngsville, striking out seven and walking two.

The Eagles took advantage of 10 walks and four errors, as Gavin Bundy finished with three RBIs. DeSimone was 2-for-2 with three runs, while Talon Mesel was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Logan Daughterty had two RBIs, and Johnson and Nate Lucks had one RBI each.

Kuntz took the loss, allowing four runs in ⅔ of an inning on two hits and two walks.
