Jan. 26, 2022 Wrestling: Cochranton Upends Cambridge Springs; Rare Score in Hickory Win over Mercer

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Cochranton got four pins in a 45-30 win over Cambridge Springs.

                        

Willis Morrell (145), Stetson Boozer (160), Louden Gledhill (215), and Daylend Schlosser all won by fall for the Cardinals, while Jack Martinec earned a tech fall at 132 and Blake Foulk a major decision (14-3) at 126.

Cambridge Springs got five pins courtesy of Preston Gorton (120), Gunner Gage (138), Chase Beck (152) Jackson Carico (189) and Jordan Miller (285).

HICKORY 72, MERCER -1

HERMITAGE, Pa. – In a rarity, Hickory earned a 72-(minus)1 win over Mercer after the Mustangs received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

                              

Hickory received eight forfeits, while Timmy Krivosh (126), Dylan Hunyadi (160), Yuri Figueroa (189) and Louie Gill (120) all won by fall for the Hornets.

MEADVILLE 39, MCDOWELL 32

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Meadville got four pins, two forfeits, and a decision in a 39-32 win over McDowell.

Caleb Anderson (113), Mark Dait (126), Alex Kinder (132), and Tyler Battles (189) all won by fall for the Bulldogs, while Griffin Buzzell got an 8-2 decision at 215.

McDowell received four forfeits and also got a tech fall from Logan Sallot at 120 and an 11-6 win from Logan Carrick at 145.

                          

COMMODORE PERRY 41, FRANKLIN 33

HADLEY, Pa. – Commodore Perry got three pins and three forfeits in a 41-33 win over Franklin.

Trevan Schaffer (152), Aiden Osborne (189), and Cade Guthrie (285) all won by fall for the Panthers, while Wyatt Lazar got a 16-0 tech fall at 132.

Franklin got four pins courtesy of Cael Dailey (113), Dallas Rose (126), Drew Kockler (145) and Kadin Karns (215). Jonah Heckathorne also won via a 4-3 decision at 160 for the Knights.

CORRY 54, EISENHOWER 24

RUSSELL, Pa. – Corry received six forfeits in a 54-24 win over Eisenhower.

Isaiah Bayle (113), Mason Savitz (172), and Ethyn Allen (189) all won by fall for the Beavers.

Gannon Jaquay (152) and Tucker Lindell (160) got pins for Eisenhower.

UNION CITY 45, YOUNGSVILLE 21

UNION CITY, Pa. – Union City won five bouts by forfeit and two more by pin in a 45-21 win over Youngsville.

                           

Cody Carr (189) and Austin Brown (126) won by fall for the Bears, while Zac Beckwith got a 9-6 decision at 145.

Youngsville got pins from Ian Mancuso (120), Cody Jesperson (285), and Aidan Mancuso (138), while Caden McCune earned a 6-4 decision at 172.

GENERAL MCLANE 66, ERIE 9

ERIE, Pa. – General McLane received eight forfeits in a 66-9 win over Erie.

Brandon Dedrick (189), Russell Wismer (215), and Hudson Spires (138) all got pins for the Lancers.

Mharel Lyons (120) won by fall for Erie, while Josiah Previte got a 2-1 decision at 132.

HARBOR CREEK 30, IROQUOIS 12

HARBOR CREEK, Pa. – Six weight classes went uncontested as Harbor Creek beat Iroquois, 30-12.

Ashton Stachewicz (145), Sebastian Raucci (160), and Jake Powers (215) won by fall for the Huskies.

Nicholas Fisher (132) got a pin for Iroquois.

NORTHWESTERN 51, CONNEAUT (OHIO) 24

CONNEAUT, OHIO – Northwestern got six forfeits and three pins in a 51-24 win over Conneaut.

Micah Rodriguez (106), Lloyd Fountain (150), and Ben Campbell (190) all won via fall for the Wildcats, while Austin Mello (157) earned a 7-6 decision.

REYNOLDS 66, ELLWOOD CITY 12

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Reynolds got seven pins and four forfeits in a 66-12 win over Ellwood City.

Logan Hammerschmidt (113), Rob Hetrick (126), Kevyn Malgieri (132), Clayton Rhoades (138), Camren Klenke (160), Jalen Wagner (189) and Brayden McCloskey (215) all won by fall for the Raiders.

SAEGERTOWN 54, MAPLEWOOD 10

GUYS MILLS, Pa. – Saegertown got four wins by fall, four by forfeit, and two by decision in a 54-10 win over Maplewood.

Owen Hershelman (126) got a 6-2 decision for the Panthers, while Nolan Hughes earned a 4-3 victory at 132. Gregory Kiser (145), Gabriel Jordan (152), Joshua Perrine (285), and Carter Beck (106) got pins for the Panthers.

Gregory Roae (160) got a pin for Maplewood and Logan Gross (172) won by major decision (11-2) at 172.

CURWENSVILLE 57, JUNIATA VALLEY 3

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Curwensville got six points and three forfeits in a 57-3 win over Juniata Valley.

Jacob Carfley (120), Nik Fegert (138), Zach Shaffer (145), Logan Augenbaugh (152), Jarrett Anderson (160) and Alex Shaffer (189) all won by fall for the Golden Tide.

Chase Irwin earned a 6-0 decision at 145 for Curwensville.
