Jan. 26, 2022 D10 Boys Hoops: Warren Powers Past LeBoeuf; Sharpsville Nabs First Win

WARREN, Pa. – Warren yielded just 14 points in the second half on its way to a 67-34 Region 5 win over Fort LeBoeuf.

Owen Becker led four Warren players in double figures with 14 points, while J.T. Blum scored nine of his 12 points in the second half and Parks Ordiway nine of his 12 in the first half for the Dragons.

Warren, which outscored the Bison 36-14 in the second half, also got 11 points from Tommy Nyquist.

Warren improved to 6-1 overall as both teams completed their first trip through region play.

A total of nine different players scored for Warren.

Ronan Dorler scored nine of his team-high 13 points in the first half for Fort LeBoeuf.

SHARPSVILLE 51, WILMINGTON 43

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – James Thomas and Mack Staunch combined for 42 points as Sharpsville picked up its first win of the season, 51-43 over Wilmington.

                          

Thomas netted 23 points in the win and Staunch 19.

The Blue Devils outscored the Greyhounds 21-10 in the fourth quarter.

Damien Micco led Wilmington with 13 points.

FARRELL 75, JAMESTOWN 45

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Farrell scored 25 points in the first quarter on its way to a 75-45 Region 1 win over Jamestown.

Lamont Samuels led three Farrell players in double figures with 20 points, while Omar Stewart tallied 19 and Nasir O’Kane 10.

Cam Keyser had 11 points for Jamestown and Peyton McElhinny 10.

ERIE FIRST CHRISTIAN 57, IROQUOIS 39

LAWRENCE PARK, Pa. – Evan Montefiori scored 27 points to lead Erie First Christian to a 57-39 non-region win over Iroquois.

The Eagles outscored the Braves 34-17 in the second half en route to the win.

                                   

Jesse Jong was also in double figures for EFC with 11 points.

Ben Burkhardt tallied 16 points for Iroquois.

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 77, MERCER 33

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Kennedy Catholic continued its strong offensive play, scoring 49 points in the first half of a 77-33 win over Mercer.

Malik Lampkins-Rudolph led three KC players in double figures with 22 points, while Elijah Harden tallied 17 and Otis Driver 11. Harden drained five triples as well.

Jake Mattocks and Logan Turton had 10 points each for Mercer.
