Hohman Picks Up 100th Win, Gill in Semifinals at Powerade Tournament Powered by Luton’s Plumbing, Heating & AC

CANONSBURG, Pa. – Grove City’s Hunter Hohman picked up his 100th career win, while Reynolds’ Louie Gill is still alive in the semifinals at the prestigious Powerade Tournament.

                        

Hohman, wrestling at 172, pinned Brody Ford of Grundy (Va.) in 47 seconds to pick up career win No. 100. He followed that up with a 6-4 decision over Cy Fowler of Cleveland (Tenn.) before dropping a 9-3 decision in the quarterfinals to Gage Wright of Parkersburg South (W. Va.).

Gill, meanwhile, was impressive in getting to the semifinals.

Gill, wrestling at 121, opened with a 17-2 tech fall win in 2:48 over Gian Ortiz of Jensen Beach (Fla.). He followed that up with a pin in 3:16 against Bishop McCort’s Lincoln Sledzianowsk. In the quarterfinals, he earned a 3-0 decision over Lukas Littleton of Malvern Prep.

The tournament is made up of some of the top wrestlers across Pennsylvania and some of the top wrestlers in the country.

                              

Cranberry’s Dalton Wenner went 3-1 on the day and is still alive at 114 pounds.
