Franklin Beats Route 8 Rival Oil City in Battle for First in Region 6; Greenville Gets Big Win Over Sharon; Colon Shines for Titusville

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Franklin built a 10-point lead after the first quarter and never looked back in a 67-51 win over Oil City in a battle for first place in Region 6.

The win by Franklin also snapped an 11-game winning streak for the Oilers.

Cole Buckley scored a game-high 23 points for Franklin and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line, while Jalen Wood knocked down three of his four 3’s in the first half and had 18 points.

Damon Curry had 15 points for the Knights, while Jonahton Leccia was a force on defense with 10 blocks to go along with eight points.

Sayyid Donald led Oil City with 15 points, while Ethen Knox added 11 and Jake Hornbeck nine.

                                      

TITUSVILLE 80, CONNEAUT 54

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – It was the Isaiah Colon show for Titusville against Conneaut.

Colon was on fire, pouring in 40 points on 10 made 3s in the Rockets’ 80-54 Region 6 win.

Kasen Neely had 14 points and Manny Perez 13 for the Rockets.

Tristan Shealatz had 18 points and Shakiir Jordan 12 for Conneaut.

                          

GREENVILLE 51, SHARON 48

SHARON, Pa. – Greenville outscored Sharon 13-6 in the fourth quarter to earn a key 51-48 Region 5 win.

Noah Philson scored seven of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to help power Greenville to the win.

Logan Lentz also had a strong game for the Trojans with 15 points.

Santino Piccrilli led Sharon with 14 points, while Derek Douglas added 10.

GIRARD 58, ERIE FIRST CHRISTIAN 51, overtime

ERIE, Pa. – Girard outscored Erie First Christian 10-3 in overtime to earn a 58-51 Region 4 win and keep pace with Fairview atop the standings.

Dylan McDonald had 16 points to help lead Girard to the win, while Geremia Dell’omo netted 12.

Luke Levis also had 16 points for Erie First Christian.

GROVE CITY 61, SLIPPERY ROCK 43

                                   

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City outscored Slippery Rock 35-19 in the second half on its way to a key 61-43 Region 5 win.

Nathan Greer poured in a game-high 20 points for Grove City, while Gavin Lutz had 15 and Brett Loughry 12.

Josh Book had 11 points and John Sabo added eight for Slippery Rock.

WARREN 72, CORRY 52

WARREN, Pa. – Warren scored 27 points in the first quarter and put five players in double figures in a 72-52 win over Corry.

Warren (10-6 overall, 3-2 Region 6) was led by Owen Becker’s 18 points, while Braylon Barnes had 17, Brady Berdine 12, Tommy Nyquist 11 and Konnor Hoffman 10.

With Parks Ordiway out of the lineup due to injury, Hoffman went from his usual role of sixth man to starter, and made a number of hustle plays for the Dragons.

“We knew we needed to come out and run a little more,” Hoffman said of the Dragons’ offensive philosophy following a heartbreaking loss at the buzzer in their last game against Oil City. “We need to play to our speed and make other teams tired. Corry is a decent team, and I think we proved ourselves tonight. We played pretty well coming off the Oil City game.”

The Dragons had 31 made shots from the floor, 28 of which were 2s, including a steal and dunk from Becker in the third quarter.

Markus Lambert had a game-high 21 points for Corry, while Nate James had 15 points.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 59, YOUNGSVILLE 38

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Josh Reisenauer scored 21 points as Region 3 leader Cambridge Springs earned a 59-38 win over Youngsville.

Cambridge Springs built a 33-19 halftime lead en route to the win.

Parker Schmidt added 13 points and Owen Riley 11 for the Blue Devils.

Koby Hendrickson led Youngsville with 15 points, while Blake Myers added seven.

SAEGERTOWN 68, UNION CITY 47

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Henry Shaffer and Brady Greco combined for 38 points as Saegertown earned a 68-47 win over Union City.

Shaffer scored 20 points and Greco 18 for the Panthers, who built a 38-22 halftime lead en route to the win.

Joe Grundy added eight points and Collin Jones and Zach Yoder added seven apiece.

Bryce Drayer led Union City with 16 points, while Brady Blakeslee netted 10.

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 55, JAMESTOWN 49

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Thorston Hart poured in 25 points as Kennedy Catholic outlasted Jamestown, 55-49.

Hart made three 3’s and was 4-of-6 from the free-throw line.

Levi Hailstock was also in double figures for Kennedy Catholic with 12 points.

Cam Keyser had 14 points and Carter Williams 13 for Jamestown, while Josh Hill added nine.

COCHRANTON 53, MAPLEWOOD 50, overtime

GUYS MILLS, Pa. – Chase Miller pumped in 20 points as Cochranton outlasted Maplewood in overtime, 53-50.

Walker Carroll was also in double figures for Cochranton, which outscored Maplewood 8-5 in overtime, with 11 points.

Cole Doolittle had 18 points for Maplewood, while Isaac Williams was also in double figures with 12 points.

SHARPSVILLE 81, GEORGE JUNIOR REPUBLIC 58

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. – Liam Campbell poured in 28 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as Sharpsville earned an 81-58 win over George Junior Republic.

Braden Scravel added 13 points, while Gergen Levis tallied nine.

Bahir Green had 25 points for GJR.

ROCKY GROVE 61, COMMODORE PERRY 55

HADLEY, Pa. – Quinn Ritchey poured in 18 points as Rocky Grove earned a 61-55 win over Commodore Perry.

Schiffer Anderson and Blayne Baker added 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Kyle Stringert led Commodore Perry with 14 points, while Xavier Williams added 12.

HICKORY 62, WILMINGTON 33

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Hickory raced out to a 26-5 lead after the first quarter en route to a 62-33 win over Wilmington.

Tyson Djakovich led a balanced Hickory effort with 15 points, while Landon Bean added 10 and Aidan Enoch nine.

Anthony Reed led Wilmington with 11 points.

LAKEVIEW 46, WEST MIDDLESEX 41

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Lakeview rallied from a 20-14 halftime deficit on its way to a 46-41 win over West Middlesex.

Cam Pence led the Sailors with 16 points, while Owen Dye and Lucas Fagley had seven points each.

Gio Rococi had 19 points for West Middlesex, while Richie Preston added 10.

MERCER 70, REYNOLDS 33

TRANSFER, Pa. – Daemyin Mattocks scored 24 points as Mercer beat Reynolds, 70-33.

Mercer held Reynolds to six points in the second half.

Bubba Palmer had 17 points for Mercer.

Jake Williams paced Reynolds with 12 points.

HARBOR CREEK 59, FORT LEBOEUF 40

WATERFORD, Pa. – Nick Krahe had 33 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as Harbor Creek earned a 59-40 win over Fort LeBoeuf.

JT Delsandro was also in double figures scoring for Harbor Creek with 12 points to go along with six assists.

Carson Papay led LeBoeuf with 16 points, while Ronan Dorler added nine.

MCDOWELL 49, ERIE 39

ERIE, Pa. – Kamden Kramer scored 17 points as McDowell earned a 49-39 win over Erie.

Tyler Grove was also in double figures for McDowell with 10 points, while Blayze Myers added nine.

Andreas McCullum led Erie with nine points.

NORTH EAST 60, NORTHWESTERN 46

ALBION, Pa. – Demetris Crosby and Noah Crozier scored 15 points apiece as North East powered past Northwestern, 60-46.

Landon Wayne had 13 points for Northwestern.

GENERAL MCLANE 73, MEADVILLE 56

EDINBORO, Pa. – Jacob Zietz poured in 24 points as General McLane earned a 73-56 win over Meadville.

Logan Anderson added 19 points and Jackson Daily 17 for GM.

Kellen Ball had 16 points for Meadville.
