BROCKWAY, Pa. – For the fourth consecutive season, the Bradford Lady Owls are the District 9 Class 3A soccer champions.

The Lady Owls scored all three of their goals in the second half en route to a 3-0 win over DuBois.

First, it was Marissa Miller, scoring off a direct kick from Lauren Placer with just over 23 minutes to go to dent the scoreboard for the first time.

With 6:43 remaining it was Maddie Cowburn’s turn to break through and put up an all-important insurance goal, with the Owls adding another late tally as the DuBois was trying to pressure to get on the scoreboard.

With the win, the Lady Owls advance to face a familiar foe, the Warren Lady Dragons. The two teams will meet in a subregional contest at Brockway’s Frank Varischetti Field at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with the winner to meet the No. 3 seed from District 7 in the first round of the PIAA playoffs.
