Led by four players each from Farrell and Central Clarion, a total of 10 District 9 and 10 players were voted to the Pennsylvania Football News Coaches-Select Class 2A All-State teams.
Central Clarion’s Jimmy Kerr (OT), Jase Ferguson (Offensive Athlete) and Thomas Uckert (kicker) were first-team selections, while Mason Burford (CB) and Brady Quinn (defensive athlete) were named to the second team.
Honored for Farrell on the second team were Simeir Wade (WR), Marion Norris (LB), Juelz Johnson (safety) and Brandon Chambers (defensive athlete).
Kerr and Uckert were joined on the first team by Mercyhurst Prep defensive tackle Sean Sokolowski.
Also named to the second team was Brookville kick/punt returner Jack Pete.
Farrell went 11-2 and made it to the PIAA quarterfinals, while Central Clarion went 11-1 in winning the District 9 title and going to the PIAA playoffs. Both teams were knocked out in back-to-back weeks by Westinghouse, which lost 21-20 to Southern Columbia in the state title game.
Southern Columbia’s Garrett Garcia was named Player of the Year and his coach, Jim Roth, Coach of the Year.
