WARREN, Pa. – Elk County Catholic’s Tori Newton and Meadville’s Emma Parks are the Week 7 2023 TapNPay+ District 9 and District 19 Volleyball Players of the Week.
Newton helped keep ECC, the second-ranked team in Class 1A in the state by the PVCA, unbeaten with wins over Sheffield and St. Marys. She had 29 kills and four aces in the two victories including 13 kills and an ace in a sweep at Sheffield and 16 kills and four aces in a sweep of St. Marys.
Parks continued her strong play for Meadville with 37 total kills in a pair of sweeps.
She had a double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs in a 3-0 win over Grove City and followed that up with a 21-kill effort in a 3-0 win over Hickory.
This is the second time Parks has earned the award this year after earning it in Week One as well.
