KARNS CITY 76, PORTERVILLE CHRISTIAN 39

FOXBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Shane Peters went off for a career-high 20 points to lead Karns City to a 76-39 win over Porterville Christian on the opening day of the A-C Valley Hoops for Heroes.

Peters, who scored seven points as a freshman, scored 18 of his points in the second half. He finished a double-double with 12 rebounds.

Taite Beighley added 17 points and seven assists for the Gremlins with Braden Grossman adding 16 points and Jacob Callihan 12 points.

NORTH EAST 50, A-C VALLEY 41

FOXBURG, Pa. – Freshman Carter Crozier scored 15 points to lead North East to a 50-41 win over A-C Valley on the opening day of the A-C Valley Hoops for Heroes.

Fellow freshman Demetris Crosby added 14 points for the Grape Pickers, while Noah Crozier added 13 points.

Jay Clover had a game-high 21 points for A-C Valley with Alex Preston adding 10.

                          

SAEGERTOWN 63, NORTH CLARION 51

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Brady Greco scored 16 points as Saegertown shot 16-of-18 from the free throw line in a 63-51 win over North Clarion in the Sheffield Tip-Off Tournament.

Zach Yoder scored eight of his 13 points in the fourth quarter, while Henry Shaffer also had 13 points for Saegertown.

Aiden Hartle had a big game in the loss for North Clarion, scoring 33 points, 20 of which came in the second half. Colbin Watterson added 10 points for the Wolves.

BRADFORD 67, EISENHOWER 40

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Jake Franz led a balanced effort with 14 points as Bradford beat Eisenhower, 67-40 in the Randy Stebbins Memorial Tournament at Otto-Eldred.

Talan Reese and Chase Wineberg were also in double figures for the Owls with 12 and 11 points respectively, while Isaiah Fitton added eight.

Kyler Black had 13 points and Kris Bunk 12 for Eisenhower.

WARREN 65, BROOKVILLE 50

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Parks Ordiway led a Warren 3-point attack with six of his own while scoring 20 points in the Dragons’ 65-50 first-round win over the Raider.

                                   

Warren plays Union in the final on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Ordiway was 6-for-9 from the 3-point line as the Dragons finished 9-for-15 overall. Brady Berdine scored 16 points with seven rebounds. Tommy Nyquist added 12 points. The Dragons shot 51 percent from the field (22-for-43) and forced 22 Brookville turnovers.

Jack Pete scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Raiders. Clayton Cook added 10 points and collected nine rebounds. Sophomore Kellan Haines came off the bench to score 10 points in his varsity debut.

The Raiders play Brockway in the consolation at 3:30 p.m.

UNION 64, BROCKWAY 34

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – In the first boys’ game at Brookville Friday, the Knights pulled away in the second half and hit the PIAA Mercy Rule’s running clock late in the game in their 64-34 win over the Rovers.

Union led 30-18 at halftime and built the lead with a 34-16 second-half advantage. Peyton Johnston scored 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the floor. Skyler Roxbury finished with 20 points and six rebounds while Zander Laughlin had 14 points, six rebounds, four steals, and four assists. Dawson Camper wound up with nine points and 18 rebounds along with three blocks.

Alex Carlson scored 20 points to lead the Rovers.

VENANGO CATHOLIC 59, FOREST AREA 29

MARIENVILLE, Pa. – James Henry exploded for a career-best 28 points to lead Venango Catholic to a 59-29 win over Forest Area in the opening round of the Forest Area Tip-off Tournament at East Forest.

Kyle Beichner added 13 points and Owen Campbell 11 for the Vikings.

Warren Dashner led Forest Area with 10 points.

WILLIAMSON 50, AUSTIN 45

GALETON, Pa. – Kristian Mizdail had a game-high 23 points to lead Williamson to a 50-45 win over Austin on the opening day of the Galeton Tournament.

Jack Nolan chipped in 14 points in the win.

                                  

Jacob Hooftallen paced Austin with 16 points, Hunter Bundy added 13 points, and Dawson Hooftallen chipped in 10 points.

YOUNGSVILLE 49, OSWAYO VALLEY 47

MARIENVILLE, Pa. – Koby Hendrickson scored 18 points to lead Youngsville to a 49-47 win over Oswayo Valley in the Forest Area Tip-Off Tournament at East Forest.

Blake Myers added 12 points for Youngsville, which led 27-20 at halftime, while Keegan Messel and Ethan Beers had eight points each.

Cayden Black scored 17 points to lead Oswayo Valley, while Nikolas Bonney had nine.

OIL CITY 74, CLARION 40

KNOX, Pa. – Cam VanWormer and Jake Hornbeck combined to score 42 points to lead Oil City to a 74-40 win over Clarion in the opening round of the Keystone Tip-off Tournament.

VanWormer scored 22 and Hornbeck added 20 points for the Oilers who also got 12 points from Ethen Knox and 11 points from Sayyid Donald.

Gabe Simko and Devon Lauer each had 10 points for Clarion with Dawson Smail chipping in nine.

DUBOIS 60, KEYSTONE 40

KNOX, Pa. – Maddox Bennett had a high school basketball debut to remember.

The DuBois freshman hit eight 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 26 points, as DuBois knocked off Keystone, 60-40, in the opening round of the Keystone Tip-off Tournament.

Cam Thompson added six 3-pointers on his way to 18 points for the Beavers.

Kyle Nellis scored 11 points for Keystone with Tyler Albright and Cole Henry each added 10 points.

OTTO-ELDRED 72, GOWANDA (N.Y.) 28

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Austin Cousins hit seven 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 23 points to lead Otto-Eldred to a 72-28 win over Gowanda (N.Y.) in the opening round of the Randy Stebbins Memorial Tournament at Otto-Eldred.

Shene Thomas added 16 points for the Terrors with Landon Francis scoring 14 and Manning Splain nine.

Quentin Centner and John Ondus each scored 10 points for Gowanda.

JAMESTOWN 51, REDBANK VALLEY 48

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Cameron Keyser scored 17 points to lead Jamestown to a 51-48 win over Redbank Valley on the opening night of the Redbank Valley Tournament.

Gage Planavsky chipped in 12 points for the Muskies.

Cam Wagner led Redbank Valley with 11 points with Kieran Fricko adding 10 and Braylon Wagner nine.

CRANBERRY 60, MAPLEWOOD 31

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Led by 12 points from Noel Bunyak Cranberry had 11 different players score in a 60-31 win over Maplewood in the opening round of the Roy Sanner Tournament at Rocky Grove.

Connor Morrow added nine points for the Berries with Colin Zerbe chipping in eight.

CLEARFIELD 56, CURWENSVILLE 39

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Cole Miller scored 19 points to lead visiting Curwensville to a 56-39 win over Curwensville.

Morgan Billotte added 11 points for the Bison with Andon Greslick chipping in 10.

Davis Fleming had 14 points to pace Curwensville.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 58, PUNXSUTAWNEY 53

DUBOIS, Pa. – Luke Swisher and Andrew Green combined for 37 points to lead DuBois Central Catholic to a 58-53 home win over Punxsutawney.

Swisher had 19 points for the Cardinals with Green hitting six 3-pointers on his way to 18 points.

Brendan Paisley chipped in 13 points for DCC.

Ryen Heigley led Punxsutawney with 14 points with Noah Weaver adding 11.

KANE 48, SMETHPORT 45, OVERTIME

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Landon Darr scored four of Kane’s 10 overtime points to give first-year head coach Cory Darr a win in his debut, 48-45, at Smethport.

Hayden Leet’s last-second putback in regulation sent the game to overtime for Smethport with the score tied at 38, but Landon Darr hit a big 3-pointer in the extra session to help Kane get the win.

Ricky Zampogna paced the Wolves with 17 points with Darr adding 13.

Preston Alfieri had a game-high 21 points for Smethport with Leet adding 12.

MARS 80, FRANKLIN 71, OT

MARS, Pa. – Tasso Sfanos scored 33 points as Mars outscored Franklin 11-2 in overtime for an 80-71 win.

Damon Curry had a big game in the loss for Franklin, pouring in 34 points, 23 of which came in the first half.

Cole Buckley was also in double figures for Franklin with 12 points, while JalenWood had nine and Dreyden Payne eight.

Ryan Ceh scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half for Mars, while Deven Koch added 10 points.

ARMSTRONG 55, GROVE CITY 35

KITTANNING, Pa. – Cadin Olsen scored 23 points to lead Armstrong to a 55-35 win over Grove City in the Armstrong Tip-Off Tournament.

Jack Valasek added 19 points for Armstrong, which led 28-16 at halftime.

Brett Loughry led Grove City with 14 points, while Nathan Greer added six.

HARBOR CREEK 49, FAIRVIEW 38

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Nick Krahe scored 17 points for Harbor Creek as the Huskies earned a 49-38 win over Fairview in the Fairview Tip-Off Tournament.

Archie Murphey led Fairview with 14 points, while John Seyboldt added 10.

WEST MIDDLESEX 47, CONNEAUT 26

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – West Middlesex built a 30-5 halftime lead on its way to a 47-26 win over Conneaut.

Richie Preston and Gio Rococi combined for 38 of West Middlesex’s 47 points, with Preston going for 20 and Rococi 18.

Shakiir Jordan led Conneaut with seven points.

MERCER 42, LAUREL 37

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Jake Mattocks scored 12 points to help Mercer to a 42-37 win over Laurel in the Laurel Tip-Off Tournament.

Bubba Palmer had nine points and Braden Balaski eight in a balanced Mercer scoring effort.

Nate Kolesar had 11 points and Sam Hughes 10 for Laurel.

CORRY 62, COCHRANTON 53

CORRY, Pa. – Ryland Smith scored 25 points, making seven shots from behind the arc in the process as Corry beat Cochranton, 62-53.

Markus Lambert had 19 points for the Beavers as well in the win.

Chase Miller had 21 points for Cochranton, while Landon Homa added 20.

ERIE 63, SENECA 52

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Erie outscored Seneca 24-1 in the fourth quarter en route to a 63-52 win.

Honest Olango had 15 points and Andreas McCullum 13 for the Royals.

HICKORY 52, BEAVER FALLS 36

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Aidan Enoch scored 17 points as Hickory rolled to a 52-36 win in the Midland Tip-Off Tournament over Beaver Falls.

Tyson Djakovich and Rylan Dye were also in double figures for Hickory with 15 and 10 points, respectively, while Enoch also had four rebounds.

Jaren Brickner led Beavers Falls with 12 points.

MCDOWELL 56, NORTHGATE 39

PITTSBURGH – Kamden Kramer scored 16 points as McDowell earned a 56-39 win over Northgate in the Mt. Lebanon Tip-Off Tournament.

Tyler Grove added 11 points for McDowell, while Isaiah Logvin added 10.

The Trojans outscored Northgate by 15 in the second half en route to the win.

ROCKY GROVE 67, TITUSVILLE 50

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Blyane Baker and Landen Carter had 17 points as Rocky Grove earned a 67-50 win over Titusville.

D’Andre Whitman chipped in with 15 points for Rocky Grove.

Isaiah Colon had 19 points to lead Titusville, while Manny Perez added 18.

MEADVILLE 82, SHARON 66

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Lucas Luteran (27) and Jack Burchard (23) combined for 50 points in Meadville’s 82-66 win over Sharon at the Sharon Tip-Off Tournament.

The Bulldogs drained 13 triples in the win.

Khalon Simmons and Kellen Ball had 14 and 13 points respectively for the Tigers.

Derek Douglas had 28 points for Sharon, while Santino Piccirilli had 13.
