Cochranton Rallies Past Meadville; Pasternak Gets 500th Kill for DuBois; Jburg Beat Port Allegany in Five (Oct. 2 VB Recaps)

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Brooklyn Needler had a double-double with 19 kills and 13 digs to lead Cochranton to a come-from-behind win over Meadville, 3-2 (13-25, 12-25, 25-22, 25-15, 15-13).

Dani Hoffman added 17 kills and 10 digs for the Cardinals who also got seven kills apiece each from Claire McCartney and Marley Rodax.

Maggie Jackson ran the offense for Cochranton with 43 set assists.

Emma Parks paced Meadville with 16 kills with Sydney Holt chipping in nine kills.

Gabby Revel and Kendall Mealy each added 19 digs for the Bulldogs, while Elliott Schleicher ran the offense with 32 set assists.

            

DUBOIS 3, RIDGWAY 0

DUBOIS, Pa. – Morgan Pasternak recorded her 500th kill while recording nine kills, in a 3-0 (25-6, 25-14, 25-10) DuBois win over visiting Ridgway.

Pasternak added five digs and two aces.

Grace Prosper added six kills and two digs for the Lady Beavers, Audrey Kennis had five kills, and Haley Reed ran the offense with 25 set assists while also adding four kills, four digs, and two aces.

JOHNSONBURG 3, PORT ALLEGANY 2

                          

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Johnsonburg won the final two sets to rally past visiting Port Allegany, 3-2 (23-25, 25-20, 17-25, 25-14, 15-9).

Marlee Cherry led the Ramettes with 15 kills and seven blocks with Natalie Dunworth adding eight kills, four aces, and 17 digs. Maggie Hetrick chipped in with eight kills, and Maria Casiliop had 11 digs.

Cadence Brechtel ran the Johnsonburg offense with 26 set assists while adding four aces and three kills.

Lily Lehmier had 15 kills to lead Port Allegany with Isla Lehmier running the offense with 38 set assists.

On defense, the Lady Gators were paced by Amber Funk with 17 digs and Madi Errick with 12 digs.

FORT LEBOUEF 3, NORTHWESTERN 0

WATERFORD, Pa. – Katelyn Olmstead had 11 kills to lead Fort LeBouef to a 3-0 (25-22, 25-10, 25-21) win over visiting Northwestern.

Kylie Peters and Maggie Lemock each added four kills for the Bison while Bella Johnson had nine digs and Ella McGowan added five digs.

Mackenzie Galdon (12 set assists) and Kiernan Skelton (11 set assists) ran the offense.

AUSTIN 3, GALETON 0

                        

AUSTIN, Pa. – Jade Williams led a balanced Austin offense with nine kills and three aces to help Austin to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-10) win over visiting Galeton.

Savannah Horton added eight kills for the Panthers with Isabella Rees chipping in seven kills.

Marah Fowler ran the offense for Austin with 22 set assists.

SLIPPERY ROCK 3, LAKEVIEW 1

STONEBORO, Pa. – Anora Robare had 33 set assists to help Slippery Rock to a 3-1 (26-24, 22-25, 25-17, 25-5) win at Lakeview.

         

Adison Novad led the Rockets with 13 kills with Avalee Demidovich adding 11 kills. Zoey Pankratz had five aces.

Kyyndra Seddon had eight kills and seven blocks for Lakeview with Maddie Doyle adding nine kills and Leigha Marstellar had five kills and four blocks.

Riley Sample also added nine digs, seven kills, and four blocks for the Sailors, and Emma Marsteller ran the offense with 22 set assists and added eight digs and two kills.

BROCKWAY 3, FOREST AREA 0

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Bella Patton had six kills, six aces, and two blocks to help Brockway to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-11) home win over Forest Area.

Lauren Rendos added five kills and Tehya Shaw added four kills.

Kalina Powell served five aces in the victory, and Meeca Smith had 14 set assists and two aces.

REYNOLDS 3, COMMODORE PERRY 0

HADLEY, Pa. – Reynolds went on the road and beat Commodore Perry, 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-16).

Addie Floch led a balanced Raider offense with four kills with Rylee Gearhart adding three kills and three digs, Ava Murcko chipping in three kills and two digs, and Kalen Trapp recording three kills.

Kylie McAdoo had 15 digs and two kills for Reynolds with Annie Loposky adding 13 digs and 14 set assists.

KEYSTONE 3, UNION 0

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – At Union, Ava Patrick had 10 kills to lead Keystone to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 28-26) win.

Bryanna Mong ran the offense for the Lady Panthers with 14 set assists, while Addison Say added five set assists and four kills.

Gwyn Manno paced Keystone on defense with 14 digs and also added three aces.

SENECA 3, GIRARD 0

GIRARD, Pa. – Emily Stafford had six kills and six digs to help visiting Seneca sweep Girard, 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-19).

Ava Guzowski ran the offense for Girard with nine set assists while adding five aces and five digs, Izzy Wisniewski also had five aces, and Rylee Christie chipped in seven dogs.

Alivia Montgomery had 12 digs for Girard with Luarel Counasse adding seven set assists and five digs.

COUDERSPORT 3, NORTHERN POTTER 0

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – A big night from Sierra Myers helped Coudersport sweep visiting Northern Potte,r 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-17).

Myers had 16 kills and seven digs to lead the Lady Falcons who also got six kills from Emilee Atherholt and four kills and 12 digs from Madyson Dubots-Angood.

Emily Eckert ran the offense for Coudy with 26 set assists.

Kayla Hyde had five kills and nine digs for Northern Potter with Haylee Chapman adding f5 digs and Reagan Slawson 13 digs and three kills.

SHARON 3, WEST MIDDLESEX 1

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – A strong overall game from Kylee Hasan helped Sharon overcome a slow start on the road to beat West Middlesex, 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-16).

Hasan had eight kills, seven blocks, and 12 digs.

Ondrea Young also added eight kills for the Tigers while Amara Lopez had seven kills.

Kylie Weirick and Tay Chester each helped on defense with 10 digs apiece, and Cameryn Krecek added nine digs.

Emmalie Yobe ran the Sharon offense with 21 set assists and chipped in seven digs.

Caitlin Stephens had eight kills, 12 digs, three blocks, and seven set assists for West Middlesex with Emma Mild adding five kills and 10 digs, Sloan Mild five kills, and Mercedes McNutt 14 digs.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 3, CURWENSVILLE 0

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. -Jessy Frank had nine kills to lead visiting DuBois Central Catholic to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-8, 25-20) sweep of Curwensville.

Emma Ellensky and Kayley Risser each added six kills for the Lady Cardinals with Ellensky also contributing two aces and two blocks.

Marina Hanes ran the offense for DCC with 16 set assists.

Briah Peoples had four kills and four aces for Curwensville with Brooklyn Price adding three kills and Savannah Carfley four set assists and two kills.

FRANKLIN 3, A-C VALLEY 0

FOXBURG, Pa. – Katie Boal had nine kills to help Franklin to a 3-0 (25-21, 25-9, 25-11) road win over A-C Valley.

Estella Adams ran the Knights offense with 24 set assists, Jennifer Blum paced the defense with 15 digs, and Abby Boland added two blocks.

Bella Ielase had five kills and eight digs for A-C Valley with Maddy Dehart adding three kills and Lexi Altman seven set assists.

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Olivia Cook had 11 kills, four digs, three aces, and two blocks to help Oswayo Valley to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-18) road win over Smethport.

Eva West added seven kills, eight digs, and four aces for the Green Wave, while Laci Miller Geiger ran the offense with 23 set assists and also added five kills, four digs, and a block.

Madi Faes had eight set assists, eight digs, two kills, and two aces for Smethport with Elizabeth Hungiville adding three kills, two blocks, and six digs, and Jaidyn Goodman five digs, two aces, and a kill.

TIDIOUTE CHARTER 3, VENANGO CATHOLIC 0

TIDIOUTE, Pa. – Callan Patterson had five kills and four aces in Tidioute Charter’s 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-7) home win over Venango Catholic.

Alicia Sabella added eight aces, four kills, and three digs in the win, while Brooksten Fors had 13 aces, four kills, and three digs, and Katelyn Hart had six kills and two aces.

Zaynah Gardner ran the offense for the Bulldogs with 17 set assists while adding three aces and a dig.

OTTO-ELDRED 3, CAMERON COUNTY 0

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Carrie Drummond had a double-double of 12 kills and 18 digs while adding three aces and two blocks in Otto-Eldred’s 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-16) win over visiting Cameron County.

Kate Rhinehart chipped in six kills, nine digs, and three aces for the Lady Terrors who also got nine kills from Kyla Andreano.

Anna Schuessler ran the offense for O-E with 24 set assist and she added two kills.

Caitlyn Palumbo had five kills and three digs for Cameron County, and Ava Hilfiger added five kills and two blocks.

PORTERSVILLE CHRISTIAN 3, JAMESTOWN 1

PORTERVILLE, Pa. – Despite a combined 19 kills from Alayna Cadman, Hannah Hart, and Sophia Hart, visiting Jamestown dropped a 3-1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-18, 26-24) decision to Porterville Christian.

Cadman had eight kills, six digs, and two blocks, Hannah Hart added six kills and eight digs, and Sophia Hart had five kills and 12 digs.

Madilyn Enterline had a team-best 17 digs for the Muskies while Emily Enterline ran the offense with 15 set assists and completed a double-double with 12 digs.

GROVE CITY 3, SHARPSVILLE 0

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City picked up a 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-22) home win over Sharpsville.

Grove City stats weren’t available but Enna Brest had seven kills and seven digs for Sharpsville with Ryleigh Fry adding 15 set assists.
