PITTSBURGH – The Cathedral Prep girls basketball team had no problem in a 61-33 Class 5A subregional win over Obama Academy.
Addie Biel had 16 points for the Ramblers, one of four players in double figures.
Jayden McBride and Natalie Spano had 14 points each and McKenna Valone 10.
The Ramblers will host WPIAL No. 5 Trinity in the first round of the PIAA championships on Saturday, March 9.
BOYS 5A SUBREGIONAL
CATHEDRAL PREP 62, OBAMA ACADEMY 45
ERIE – Michael Thompson scored 19 points to lead Cathedral Prep to a 62-45 win over Obama Academy in the D8-9-10 Class 5A subregional final.
Nando Mirarchi added 14 points for the Ramblers in the win.
Prep will host WPIAL No. 5 Fox Chapel in the first round of the state playoffs on Friday, March 8.
