Brookville Rallies Past St. Marys; Warren Stays Perfect; C-L, Titusville Earn Close Wins

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Kellen Haines scored 18 of his career-high 25 points in the second half to help Brookville rally for a 51-47 road D9 League win over St. Marys.

The Raiders trailed 22-18 at halftime but behind Haines came back to pick up their first league win of the year while breaking a four-game slide.

Jack Pete added 11 points for Brookville with Luke Burton scoring seven points, all in the second half.

Quin Gavazzi had 13 points for St. Marys with Dan Schutz and Anthony Nedzinski each chipping in nine points.

                                      

WARREN 61, BRADFORD 41

BRADFORD, Pa. – Getting all but two of its 61 points from four players, Warren pulled away from home standing Bradford, 61-41.

Braylon Barnes led the Dragons, who improved to 7-0 with the win, with a game-high 19 points with Brady Berdine scoring 15, Tommy Nyquist 14, and Logan Crissey 11.

Warren built a 27-20 halftime lead and built the advantage to 40-29 by the end of the third quarter thanks to seven points from Barnes.

Jake Franz led Bradford with 14 points with Chase Wineberg adding 12.

                          

CLARION-LIMESTONE 60, CLARION 57

CLARION, Pa. – Using an 11-0 run midway through the second half, Clarion-Limestone knocked off rival Clarion, 60-57, in a non-conference game at Clarion High School.

The Lions trailed 47-43 late in the third quarter before ending the quarter on a 5-0 spurt to take a 48-47 lead going to the fourth on a Jase Ferguson basket.

C-L then scored the first six points of the fourth quarter, the final two of a pair of Jack Callen free throws, to push the lead to seven, 54-47.

Ferguson led C-L with 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists while Jack Craig added 11 points and four steals.

Also for the Lions, Callen had nine points on 7 of 10 from the line, to go with nine rebounds and five steals, freshman Paul Craig, Jack’s younger brother, chipped in eight points while hitting a pair of first-half 3-pointers, and Ty Rankin contributed seven points.

Devon Lauer had a game-high 24 points for Clarion with Dawson Smail adding 14 points and Bryce Brinkley eight.

TITUSVILLE 46, UNION CITY 43

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Titusville made just enough of its free-throws down the stretch to hold off Union City, 46-43.

The Rockets were 6-of-11 from the charity stripe over the final eight minutes, outscoring Union City 12-10 during that span.

                                   

Isiah Colon led the Rockets with 16 points, while David Leonard added 10.

Connor Wingard led Union City with 13 points and Bradley VanTassel added 11.

EISENHOWER 65, SHEFFIELD 44

EISENHOWER, Pa. – Kyler Black scored 21 of his 25 points in the first half as Eisenhower beat Sheffield, 65-44.

Austin Hanson was also in double figures for Eisenhower, which built a 38-25 halftime lead en route to the win, with 15 points.

Five different Eisenhower players hit 3’s in the game, with the Knights finishing with eight as a team. Derek Guiher added six points in the win.

Leihden Wotorson knocked down four 3’s four Sheffield and finished with 22 points. Allen Eaton added 10 points for the Wolverines.

GALETON 67, SMETHPORT 37

GALETON, Pa. – Corey Anderson and Braiden Cimino each scored a game-high 18 points to lead Galeton to a 67-37 home NTL win over Smethport.

Matt Zur added 11 points for the Tigers with Braden Ward chipping in with 10.

Brentton McDowell had 15 points and Carson Dunn added 12 points for Smethport.

CATHEDRAL PREP 57, LAKESIDE (Wash.) 39

LAS VEGAS – Cathedral Prep picked up its first win of the season, 57-39 over Lakeside (Wash.) in the Tarkanian Classic.

Spencer Kanne poured in 22 points to lead the Ramblers, with the win also marking the first in the career of head coach Jeremy Lynch.

Nando Mirachi and Michael Thompson were also in double figures for Prep, scoring 13 and 10 points, respectively.

                                  

Xavier Gatlin had 12 points for Lakeside.

CRANBERRY 84, NORTH CLARION 58

SENECA, Pa. – Topping 70 points for the third consecutive game, Cranberry rolled to an 84-58 win over visiting North Clarion.

Five Berries reached double digits led by 22 points from Blake Marchinke.

Ethan Merryman added 17 points with Connor Morrow contributing 14 points, Landon Baker chipping in 12 tallies, and Cole Findlay scoring 10 points.

Drake Irwin had 19 points to pace North Clarion with Ethan Carll adding 15 tallies.

YOUNGSVILLE 56, FOREST AREA 23

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Rylan Benton scored 18 points to help Youngsville to a 56-23 win over visiting Forest Area.

Ethan Beers and Braydon Baker each added 12 points for the Eagles.

Colton Kuntz scored nine points for Forest Area.

COCHRANTON 55, JAMESTOWN 39

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Cochranton outscored Jamestown, 24-5, in the first quarter on its way to a 55-39 victory.

Dawson and Walker Carroll combined to score 35 points for the Cardinals. Dawson poured in 22 points, 18 coming from his six 3-pointers, while Walker added 13 points.

Cole Tement led the Muskies with 16 points.

SHENANGO 74, GREENVILLE 62

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Greenville had the hot hand early, but Shenango finished strong in a 74-62 road win.

The Trojans were on top at the end of a high-scoring first quarter, 23-18. Greenville knocked down five threes in the first eight minutes. The Wildcats closed the game with 24 fourth-quarter points after entering the final frame with a 3-point lead.

Shenango scored half of its points in the final frame from the free throw line (12-20).

The Wildcats had three players score in double figures led by Brody McQuiston’s 30 points. Joe Campoli had 17 points, and Jason Malley 13 in the win.

Noah Cano led four Trojans in double figures with 18 points. Soren Hedderick had 15 points, Mason Vannoy added 14 points, and Noah Hilson had 11 points.

SLIPPERY ROCK 50, SHARPSVILLE 22

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock opened the game on a 21-2 run in the first quarter and never looked back in a 50-22 win over Sharpsville.

Josh Book led Slippery Rock with 25 points, while Levi Prementine was also in double figures with 12.

Carter DeJulia led Sharpsville with six points.

MCDOWELL 63, PUEBLO CENTRAL (Colo.) 55

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Kamden Kramer led McDowell with 15 points as the Trojans opened the KSA Tournament with a 63-55 win over Pueblo Central (Colo.).

Tyler Grove added 13 points in the win for the Trojans.

McDowell went on a 22-11 run in the second quarter to take a 39-23 halftime lead en route to the win.

Xavier Davis led Pueblo Central with 16 points.

ALIQUIPPA 66, FARRELL 49

ALIQUIPPA, Pa. – Aliquippa went on a 23-11 run in the second quarter to take a 33-18 halftime lead on its way to a 66-49 win over Farrell.

Tiqwai Hayes led the Quips with 13 points, while Quentin Goode and Joshua Pratt had 12 each.

Danny Odem paced Farrell with 13 points, while Dontaye Bell added 11.
