Balanced Effort Helps DCC Girls to Win; St. Marys, Punxsy Get League Wins

DUBOIS, Pa. – Ten different DuBois Central Catholic players scored in a 49-33 home AML win over Brockway.

Emma Elensky was the lone Lady Cardinal to reach double digits with 10 points, while Hope Jacob added eight for DCC (8-5 overall, 2-2 AML South).

Sophia Schmader had 10 points, nine rebounds, and five steals for Brockway (5-11, 1-5) while Raegan Gelnette added nine points.

ST. MARYS 60, RIDGWAY 42

RIDGWAY, Pa. – District 9’s leading girls’ scorer, Jayssa Snelick, tickled the twine for 26 points to lead visiting St. Marys to a 60-42 win over Ridgway in AML action.

                                      

Snelick drilled five 3-pointers on her way to the game-high performance.

Maura Caskey added 17 points for the Lady Dutch (10-3 overall, 7-0 AML South), who secured at least a tie for the AML South regular-season crown with the win.

Molly Hanslovan chipped in eight points for the victors.

Kristen Ellenberger led Ridgway (10-4, 1-3) with 17 points with Jenna Kasmierski adding 15 tallies.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 51, BROOKVILLE 36

                          

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Visiting Punxsutawney overcame a slow start to beat Brookville, 51-36, in D9 League action.

The Lady Chucks (12-2 overall, 4-1 D9 League) and Lady Raiders (6-7, 1-4) were tied at 12 at the end of the first quarter, but Punxsutawney took a 29-18 halftime lead that grew to 42-24 by the end of the third.

Avary Powerll led Punxsy with 13 points, six rebounds, and two steals, while Danielle Griebel had seven points, 10 assists, six steals, and three rebounds. It was her fifth double-digit assist game of the season. She is averaging 7.2 apg.

Eden Wonderling had a game-high 20 points for Brookville.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 49, UNION/A-C VALLEY 24

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Kalyssa Ferguson and Julianna Schwabenbauer each scored 12 points to lead Clarion-Limestone to a 49-24 KSAC win over visiting Union/A-C Valley.

Hannah Beggs and Raegan Love each added six points for the Lady Lions (5-10 overall, 2-5 KSAC).

Maddy Dehart had 13 points for Union/A-C Valley (2-12, 0-6).

NORTH CLARION 53, CRANBERRY 14

SENECA, Pa. – Lily Homan and Akeela Greenawalt each had 14 points to lead visiting North Clarion to a 53-14 KSAC win over Cranberry.

                                   

Homan completed a double-double with 10 steals.

Kyler Freeman added two points, seven rebounds, and four blocked shots for the She-Wolves (13-2 overall, 6-0 KSAC).

Raegan Antrilli paced Cranberry (3-13, 1-5) with five points.

OTTO-ELDRED 50, CAMERON COUNTY 32

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Carrie Drummond led a trio of Otto-Eldred players in double-digits in a 50-32 home NTL win over Cameron County.

Drummond had 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals for the Lady Terrors (10-6 overall, 8-4 NTL).

Kate Rhinehart chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds for O-E while Rayel Hakes added 10 points.

Elsie Bresslin led Cameron County (3-12, 3-8) with 14 points with Navaeh Spaeth adding 10 points.

CLARION 61, CURWENSVILLE 8

CLARION, Pa. – Marley Kline had 16 points to lead Clarion to a 61-8 win over visiting Curwensville.

Taylor Alston added 12 points for the Lady Cats (9-6) with Lacey Lauer chipping in nine points and Alivia Diehl eight points.

Natalie Wischuck led Curwensville (0-14) with five points.
